so Palin supporters are dumb??? Could you please qualify that statement? I rather think you cannot.

I'll tell you how they're dumb. After that, you can tell me how are Palin supporters smart.

Firstly, Palin can't come up with a decent argument. Her reasons start with maverick and end with support the troops, with "moar oil baby" somewhere in between there. She has no substance at all, clearly no intelligence when it comes to foreign intelligence, the economy, energy, or civil rights. She's good looking and all, but if I want a bimbo with tits and a face, I'll take Paris Hilton for VP, or Sarah Silverman for President. If I want someone who knows that the hell they're talking about, that would likely go to someone like Lincoln Chafee or Dennis Kucinich.

Anyways, people tend to vote for the person that best represents them and their positions. If Sarah Palin is what represents Republicans, well.. the Republican party surely is in a sorry state right now.

and because you say it, it is so?

one could say the same about obama supporters. ;)

It's so.

And maybe Obama supporters are, but they're not really arguing with me either. ;)

Freedom is the key that is why we have fought in these wars and for us to vote for who we feel is best, yes we won't always agree but maybe we should show some respect for our fellow Americans no matter who they personally like as our next president, no more from me I am dropping out of these debates, take care all and may our country always be strong.

And maybe Obama supporters are, but they're not really arguing with me either. ;)

While I can argue with you up and down about these "freedoms", I will say the method I use is called "tough love". Some people need a polite coaxing. Others simply need a kick in the ###.

I asked you to qualify how all Palin supporters are dumb. I didn't ask you to qualify whether or not Palin herself is dumb. You aren't telling me anything here about Palin supporters. The fact is you can't either. You don't know every Palin supporter to be able to make such a sweeping statement. Perhaps you judge everyone by their political leanings alone?

I just iterated it, and I will again, she is a representation of the people who vote for her. Do you vote for someone who has no values or beliefs similar to that of yourself?

There's two main reasons why most Republicans will vote for her, one of which is extremely similar to Democrats.

First one is because they vote her personality, or looks. One cannot suggest her arguments are worth a sh!t when her party needs to attack the friggen debate moderator so she goes softer on Palin. Basically supporting Palin's ridiculous arguments made especially in the interviews and debates are akin to a pet taking food from your hand.

Second one is because they vote down the party line and don't care who's running. Check, check, check, check, done! This is something both major parties are guilty of.

Palin's entire appeal comes from her moral standpoint. And last I checked, from pastors to politicians, preaching and exercising bigotry while letting the sh!t pile in their own back yard, the most morally haughty are also amongst the worst people. Whereas one with an objective perspective understands her stance on gays or how much McCain is a maverick or supporting the troops will not determine how she uses her tie breaking vote in the Senate. It's as deceitful as her winking.

Evidently people didn't learn from the "good ol' boy" nonsense that helped elect Bush, while he had the bible in one hand and a foot up America's ###. Objective Republicans will also see someone who touted killing pork spending, balancing the budget, believing in diplomacy -- this was Bush -- while he turned out to be the opposite on everything. Short term memory, or selective memory. Or both. Here's McCain, preaching the same ####### while agreeing with Bush on nearly everything. Here's Palin, taking the moral ####### up a notch.

By the way Republican candidates talk to their constituents, using the same aphorisms every time, they certainly have little faith in your intelligence, and of course they continue to get elected, so.. evidently that's the right approach.

I would vote for McCain/Palin based on the fact that Obama, for me, is a complete waste of space, and a vote for anyone else would be a waste. I am very sure that I don't have a huge amount in common with McCain or Palin. I support gay marriage and I don't suppport hunting for example. Palin doesn't represent me in any way at all really but personally I feel she is a better option than Obama/Biden. As I have stated before on posts, I'm not excited by either presidential candidate or VP, so I have to go with the lesser of two evils. I am sure there are many people out there like me.

I pretty much sense a guilt-laden vote.

I have a question though, as I'm sure someone logical like yourself can deduce this so-called "Democracy" is getting "voted" out by people who have little interest vested in what is best for every American, rather than a very small, specific amount who likely give them money. How in the world are we ever going to get better Presidents, and better this country, when people so readily limit their own options to one or the other, and NOT "President A", so I guess I have to vote the other (President B) ? If you think about it, Democrats and Republicans are never going to go "yeah, lets open discussion to third parties!". That decreases their chance and they want their fvcking power. Won't it take Americans actually taking their "Democracy" into their own hands? All they're doing is placating to the strategies of the two major parties to consolidate their own power. And as is said about statistics, their statistical likelihood becomes greater if they squelch the others. So really these top-tier politicians own you and your vote because they know you'll vote "one or the other".

News agencies give third parties practically zero press time because, especially by their own word about third party candidates, they aren't statistically the most viable (of course not, because THEY GET NO PRESS TIME).

It's kinda like having the two large cable companies who screw you, and the third one which is small which costs more (i.e. you get a little less value for your money), but you sure as #### feel a lot better for making your choice, instead of them making it for you. Amirite?

this is a golden moment - nothing like watching you slam people with venomous rhetoric. i'm sure you have zero credentials to make that broad brush assessment. you really need to find a therapist.

I get slammed for voting third party and criticizing anyone who needs to be, so it's a game of equal proportions -- give and take. I'm not on your side or Democrats side, I'm on my side.

I think it's great that you libs continually make pointless fun of Sarah Palin. It illustrates how you feel the need to divert us from Barry's frailities and follies, and Joe's gaffes and lies. It's clear you fear her, or tearing her down wouldn't be so important to you.

I'm also glad I'm not one of you. You are easily amused, look very silly, and are consistantly immature in how you express your political views.

Ok.... right now there are two parties that have a chance in this election - we all know that. I am favoring Republican because they most closely suit my agenda. I do agree with you that third parties don't receive enough press time to actually appeal to US citizens, and also I am sure funding is an issue for them also. It is a shame as there may be a candidate I might actually like. I don't want Obama because, among other things, I find that he is arrogant to a fault and would be a liability in his approach to important issues. Also, I really do not want the tax man to take any more of my hard earned cash than he already does (my husband and myself are already in the top tax bracket), and I certainly don't trust Obama not to try and take more from me. Its really as simple as that for me. As an aside, I really cannot abide the left. Being a UK citizen, I watched useless left wing pieces of flesh, otherwise known as the Labour Party, run the country into the ground. That is enough to send anyone screaming to the right.

Don't know Charles... with so many 'venomous' attacks that are seen and not seen I am sure Dr. Dean et al could make quite a killing with some forum members and trolls. Different types of therapies for different kinds of folks.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

I'm pretty sure we can agree on no matter what they label the party and no matter what speeches and promises they give, the fewer choices there are, the worse the outcome.

I'm certainly not suggesting to trust Obama, but do you really trust McCain? They both promise to lower taxes on you. Even so, keep in mind if a tax increase passes in your state, you have no choice and neither does McCain or Obama. If a payroll tax increase passes, you have no choice, and neither does McCain or Obama, if the votes are 60+"Yea/Aye" in the Senate (assuming filibuster on cloture), and a simple majority in the House.

At some point though this country, in order to avoid being bankrupt and/or completely owned by other countries even more than it is now, will have to pay for it's spending as services and debt require payment. I don't think China or Saudi Arabia or the UAE are going to give up their investments into the country without the threat of sending it down to a collapse much worse than this. No doubt we can cut pork spending, and have the government actually spend money at useful things for citizens, but for that it requires the people to be a check on their government, and it's simply the other way around, and the people are pretty much owned by the government with this "one or the other" style of voting most people cater to.
