I must have missed the sexism and ageism.

A 72 year old can't be a track star, or climb Everest. The presidency is a high-stress position - its reasonable to wonder whether a 72 year old man's health would stand up in the face of the demands that the job would impose on him.

That factor becomes even more important if you are disillusioned with McCain's running mate, and in the event something happens (as indeed it did to Ariel Sharon - who wasn't much older than McCain), you don't want Sarah Palin in line for the presidency.

Absolutely shameful...I teach American Government to 17-18 year olds, and I think it is inappropriate to show a political preference in the classroom, much less spewing that kind of garbage...

And he was a MIDDLE school teacher?!?!?!?!

Unfortunately, a lot of teachers don't hold that view...

You missed the ageism and sexism. Why am I not surprised?

Call me a racist, but I'm more disillusioned with Joe Biden's running mate. The juxtiposition of those two are like the cart leading the horse.

Oh, in case you missed it, Biden's old, too.

There was no sexism in the post you referenced, so if I missed it - its for the simple reason that it ain't there ;)

As to ageism - it is reasonable to wonder if McCain has the energy for a high-stress job. He isn't the only world leader of advanced years - but it does put a certain emphasis on his running mate. And if you're disillusioned with her... (not for a scattering of verbal gaffes, but screwing up an entire interview, and patently ignoring debate issues that were supposedly a key reason for her selection)

I can do that too. I don't see racism, so that means it isn't there.

That's a bit of a fantastic voyage of logic isn't it? So to summarise - that if I say something in one context you can parrot it in another. I mean, its totally not like there's any racist connotations in the word "n*gger" is there

Ling Ling didn't say anything to indicate that the criticism had anything to do with Palin being a woman (did you see references to "that ######" or "silly cow", for example?)

N i g*e r is a word common in youth vanacular. I'll bet many here have songs with the word in their Ipods.

I said before, I'm not surprised that you don't see sexism or ageism. Libs are far, far, far more sensitive to racism than they are to sexism or ageism. That is a major reason why they support Obama and it has been proven time and time again by the gleeful posting of insults to Palin by so-called "feminists" who push the liberal sludge that the only way a woman can be a feminist is if she is pro-abortion, anti-religion, and hates men.

It's not the same - the word has a different meaning in the black community (and more specifically within a certain subset of the black community) but its controversial even in the black community.

Moreover - turning your argument to generalities about "libs" doesn't detract from the fact that there is nothing comparable to the "n*gger" comment in the post you referenced.
