-sigh- i went to the bank today to pay the visa application fee of $131 and it was validated on one of my ds 157 forms. Then I just noticed it when i got home that there's a doubled letter on my fiance's last name... his last name is Boutell and i accidentally put Boutelll ... 3 L's. Maybe my hands were shaky or the keyboard was too sensitive... I don't know. Would that be a problem? What should i do about this? Should i just erase this or i need to pay the visa application fee again?

Thank you so much... I'm worried.

Fill out and sign a corrected DS 157 and take it to the interview.

I'm just worried coz i know they are strict in terms of spellings.... but i dont want to have to pay the visa application fee again just because it was printed on ds 157 with doubled letters.

Thank you so much!

Why would you have to pay the visa fee again, for adding an extra L to your fiancee's last name...you've paid the fee for the chance to interview for a visa. The mistake on a form can be corrected....just do as pushbrk suggested and i think you'll be fine.

BTW, you're the visa beneficiary and your fiance is the USC? The visa is being issued to you so it is more imperative that your name and details be correct, than it is your fiance's. ASFAIK, on the visa (the one that is stamped in your passport) your fiance's name does not appear anywhere.

thanks Minya's wife.. was just worried coz they validated the payment at the back of one of my ds 157 forms. I think i'll just prepare a corrected ds 157 then, just in case.

If you want to be double certain, take the corrected form back to the bank along with the one they stamped and let them destroy the old one and stamp the new one. Maybe they'd be willing to do this.

Now that you've given more details though, I'd just white out the extra "l" on the one you have.

The petitioners name does appear on the visa.
