A copy of the intending immigrant's birth certificate along with English translation. (If in any language other than English) ??

What kind of english translation do I need?? An official document?

You just need it translated and notarized. If you can get an official translation that would be good but just get the translation done and get it notarized.

Doesn't it have to be certified, not notarized?

Yes, it has to be certified not notarized. "Certified" means that there must be a certification statement which says that the person who translated it is competent in both English and the foreign language. And it has to be signed and dated.

Yeah, I just had a friend 'certify' the translation that I did myself. (they actually speak the language though)

09-19-2008 - Checks finally posted - goodbye money!

09-25-2008 - Biometrics appointment notice sent

09-30-2008 - Biometrics walk-in -- in and out in 20 minutes!!!

10-09-2008 - Biometrics appointment 12pm at Norfolk, VA office (for reference only)

12-01-2008 - Advance Parole notice sent

12-12-2008 - NOA for interview

12-31-2008 - Touch

02-17-2009 - Interview - Green Card approved!
