I heard tonight the inside-the-beltway denizen talking to a Main Street American.

Of course the pundits are going nuts because Palin did not make any gaffes they were looking forward to.

I see in her how a middle class American processes information and how they would respond.

Those of us used to Sunday morning talk shows will see her style quaint but she reminds me of Harry Truman.

Give her 6 months and you will be surprised what she can be.

Clearly, Sarah Palin won in style. She can strike ordinary Americans as a breath of fresh air different from all the elite discourse.

We'll see what the polls say in the coming days but I suspect McCain poll numbers may stabilize and perhaps even improve.

Biden ( I like this guy very much) met the expectation people have of a senator whose been in Washington for 36 years.. No more no less.

I'm an ordinary American and I was left feeling that I never got a straight answer from her. At least Biden could answer the questions asked of him. Just because you are Joe/Jane Main Street USA doesn't make you good at leadership.

He answer the questions lets see Obama is not qualified to be president and he would be honored to be McCains running mate, how soon we forget.

I'm of the opinion that the media (the Fourth Estate) should serve a very specific purpose - that of providing independent oversight of the actions of government. They should be concerned with the substance of political dialog, rather than fixate on how it comes across.

It's an accent. I don't understand what the big deal is. Do you always judge people by their local accent? I guess you think those that have a southern accent are all inbread morons? Maybe anyone with a midwest accent are all hayseeds? Everyone with a New England accent are all elitists? Very nice.

I was at a terminal of my company in Atlanta for some training. This morning many were watching the news and they were going over the debates and I mentioned that Biden looked really sleazy. Everyone agreed even the big Obama Socialists.

Biden’s weakness: He is completely divorced from honesty. Either he knows he’s lying and doesn’t care or he isn’t aware and is just plain ill informed. His body language was off-putting. Like McCain he appeared angry and contemptuous. That phony smile is nauseating.

No wonder this world is messed up. We can have a moron running for office as long as his pronunciation skills is superb. Or we can have someone who knows what they're talking about, but, his pronunciation is awful.

Leadership is above pronunciation. Many professors in IVY League universities, and all other top schools are foreigners. Their pronunciation are poor, but, they do know what's happening in the world. These faculties run the world.
