i liked how at the end of the debate her children came on stage and she held her baby for about 10 seconds before palming it off onto another child. the husband paid no interest in it at all. what a lovely family.

I didn't see her palm the kid off. I thought the shots of her holding the kid and patting his/her back looked good for her, actually. More so than what she'd been previously saying.

a daughter was holding it (i think bristol?), then palin kinda held it but it was just hanging there, no affection like from the first daughter, then she quickly gives it to another daughter who is barely big enough to hold it, who was very loving too. dad just stood by and didn't have anything to do with it. their family values are messed up. she does not represent the values of any women i know.

IT? It has a name! :wow:

lol, is that the best you can come up with?

Sorry rocks, same applies. You have no idea how this woman handles her family, and to attack her on such a non-issue when it comes to having a hand in running the country just seems to lack substance. There are a multitude of issues to take up with her. This just seems lame.

Nobody will treat strangers, in this case (US population), the same as they treat their own families. It's common practice, no matter who is the president and who is not.

i have no idea that shes running for vp when she has a special needs baby that needs far more attention than in a normal situation? i have no idea that she was selected for her family values, which she doesn't actually have? ya, i have no idea. thanks for putting me straight on that, you clearly know me so well.

Well this is true. You can't judge someone's family values on the basis of a brief interaction at a formal event.

the way she treated her baby was nothing short of disgusting, who wants a bad mother for vp?

You think she is a bad mother for seeing a 5-10 minute clip of her holding & passing her child to her daughter? That is quite a stretch. I don't like Palin in the least, but surely if one is going to attack her, don't base it on seeing 10 minutes of her "family life".

she already neglects the child to run for vp... she just had a baby... i am not solely basing it on that at all, but what i saw reinforces everything that is wrong about her family values.

maybe if you read what other people say instead of listening to the sound of your own voice, i wouldn't have to keep repeating myself.

But pretty much any career woman does that to an extent - more often than not both parents are working and the kids inevitably spend time in daycare.

A two term gov vs. 36 yrs in the senate is no match. Palin did good for the level she is at but this debate seems more like a PR stunt than anything. I agree it wasn't a debate, but more publicity time for the popularity competition. I've had to watch more interviews on the candidates then I care to admit and serious journalist ask the tougher questions and get the real responses from them. Try the 60 minute interviews if you want the real meat not this "debate"/debacle. bleh.

From this I observed that Palin is a party puppet and Biden has a mature wisdom.

There are loads of issues with either side. Personally I'd rather have a Harvard graduate for President when we're facing this financial crisis because of the connections this man is going to have with some of the most brilliant minds. I don't envy the person that gets elected with the mess they are going to have to navigate, nor am I looking forward to the work that we're all going to have to do now.

Actually, a one year Gov and who really cares? The appointed cabinet "offer" most decisions anyway. The Pres and VP are talking heads that follow the advice of their advisers. (National Security Advisor, Chief of Staff, Director of the CIA and so forth)......

But the President still chooses his cabinet. If you want to know what type of people Obama or McCain would choose to be part of the of their cabinet, look at the campaign and choice for VP.

Touché. Quite a lapse in judgment there.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

I agree. And in many big families the siblings help with the younger ones. I am not a supporter of Palin's views but I don't think we should go there when it comes to how she raises her family. And you can't make an accusation based on what you see in 5 minutes.

Biden sounded like he was talking from his head.. Palin sounded like she was just repeating things she had memorized..

Thats what we felt too

And you sure it wasn't the mainstream liberal media telling you what to think?

not sure if you are being serious or not but I came to that conclusion all by my self :P

And you sure it wasn't the mainstream liberal media telling you to come to that conclusion? j/k

'liberal media'

(there :))

 I hope you are joking... if you think that the "mainstream liberal media" is beaming suggestions into people's heads you need to see a shrink! Like many others I felt that Biden had a much better command of the facts & Palin dodged a lot of questions by making very general statements and repeating the word "maverick" over & over.

Someone posted the CBS poll, which is dead on the money, which scored the opinions of non-committed voters. Republicans will say Palin won, Democrats will say Biden won, but the only group that matters now is the non-committed voter & more of them thought Biden won than Palin.

Trust me, if I actually believed that mainstream media was liberal in any way I'd be advocating for more conservatives in office. ;)

Yes I was joking
