Hi Everyone, I stayed for 2 nights in jail (in July 2008) in related to spousal abuse/felony charge. I was released without appearing in court. The charged was dropped with insufficient grounds.

Today, I got a letter/subpoena from the City Attorneys Office (I live her in LA, Ca) requesting to appear (this month Oct. _, 2008) in relation to the same case. My husband has the subpoena too but he has to appear on a different date.

2 days in jail had been a nightmare for me. This situation is like an endless ordeal for me. It's like there's no stopping. All I just want to do is to forget the whole thing but seems like there's no end.

I am puzzled...I don't know what to do. Why the City Atty's Office is sending me a subpoena?

p.s>>> In January 2009, I am eligible to apply for a citizenship.

I'm sure that when you show up at his office, he will tell you.

If you don't want to wait that long, you can try calling his office and ask them what it's about.

PEOPLE: READ THE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS!!!! They have a lot of good information in them! Most of the questions I see on VJ are clearly addressed by the form instructions. Give them a read!! If you are unable to understand the form instructions, I highly recommend hiring someone who does to help you with the process. Our process, from K-1 to Citizenship and U.S. Passport is completed. Good luck with your process.

Yah, I might do what you say, call the office. I am all worried that in 2 months time, I am eligible to apply for citizenship and thinking about all what happened, and what I need to do during the interview in due time.

thank you,

lesm
