I have a love/hate thing with snow. I hated shoveling it, I hated driving in it and I hated having to brush my car off in the mornings. I love the way it looks though- watching it fall. I always loved winter for sleeping- it gets dark early, I'd have a nice long hot bath and then slip into bed with lots of blankets and it was so wonderful.

Last year it was hard for me to have a christmas without snow. It's pathetic looking! :/ I miss the Canadian winter, believe it or not. I was so much more tolerant than I am now. Now I am a wuss!

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Please keep the white ####### up north. The only place snow should be seen is on Christamas movies. Same goes with cold weather, keep that up there too. If it drops below 70, it's too cold and I must contimplate hibranating until the temperature reaches a sustainable level (aka over 70). I really need to move out of this state...

I'm just a wanderer in the desert winds...

It hit 100f today so I am totally jealous of the snow - we don't even have the turning leaves! Just palm trees and sunshine... although we currently have some clouds and wind. But that's it

I feel your pain!

That is what our summers are like, except add in 95% humidity. But we get snow here. Usually in big 7-plus-inch storms, too. Last winter my town exceeded its plowing budget.

I hate the "S" word.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

I had my mom call me to tell how it snow all around the SOO and how cold its been. I have never been good with the cold I break out in hives when i get cold and they get very nasty so I really do like the heat. I get cold way too easy last summer was crappy in Sault Ste Marie it was too short and cold for me. I like this fall weather here this will be one of the warmest and least bundled up Halloweens the kids will have no snowsuites yay.

I loved living in Southern California while my parents were still back in Upstate New York. I called in March once, on my way to Huntington Beach, and they were watching two feet of snow pile up on their patio. I'm evil, I know.

I love cool, autumny weather.

I remember one spring when my Aunt & Uncle were in Florida and I called them up (it was March) from my house in Toronto where I was sitting on the back balcony in my bikini, watching the snow melt in 80F+ weather. My Aunt said they were sitting there bundled up in sweaters and track pants because it was only about 60F in West Palm at the time

Its funny sometimes when the world goes all turvy topsy innit?

I used to live on Vancouver Island. I phoned a friend of mine in Barrie, Ontario one time in the winter. It was 11° outside my door. It was -30° in Barrie. He was talking about how his wife got snowed in on the way home from work and that 6 hours had gone by and she still wasn't home yet. All the hotels along the way were already booked.

I said to him "Rick, are you aware that it's 41° warmer here than it is there?"

SHUT UP!

ya that was the beauty of Victoria! Mid you the gray clouds and drizzle for days on end could be a bit depressing, and would actually prefer -30 with blue sky from time to time!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
