My fiancee had her interview at the US Embassy in Bangkok, everything panned out and was told she could pick up her visa on Friday. I want to book her flight now, but want to make sure that her visa will be good when "picked-up". Everything, I've read so far says the visa is good at the time of issuance. Has anyone heard/experienced otherwise? The Visa is "good" when they give it to you?

all i can say is dont book the flight unitll she has the visa IN HAND! there has been ALOT of cases when people book the flights before hand and then go to pick up the visa and they tell them to come back in 2 weeks or so because the didnt print it yet. but yes the visa is good the day she will get it.

It's valid when she has it in hand. In fact, Rin and I picked her's up at the embassy at 3:30 pm, had our bags already packed and in the car, then straight to the airport (arrived about 4:30 pm). Our flight left about 7 pm.

Moonoi - don2008 makes a valid point. When I booked Rin's ticket, I made sure it could be changed. It was a one way on Thai Airways (BKK - LAX) and was valid for one year. We didn't have to change it, but if we had it would have been $100 to change.
