For those that are interested and maybe want an insight into your upcoming medical i have decided to write a quick post about my medical expereince.

Got up ate 5.30AM  on 1st October 2008. Andrew called me to make sure i ws awake hehe. I then took the 6.30am bus to exeter and got the 900am train to london paddington. from there i took the bakerloo line to picidilly circus and then central line(1 stop) to Bond street. I found the road where my medical was (Benkint Mansions) but i was walking up and down fo about 5 mi cuz i cudnt find the building! I was looking for a medical looking building but in fact it was a large lovley old building.

Anyways pressed button for flat 4, said i had an appointment and they let me in. The receptionist took passport pic, passport, medical questionnaire, and vaccination details off me. I then waited in a waiting room on a comfortable sofa. I then had to fill out another questionnaire and sign a consent form for HIV test. When i gave ths back i got called in by a lovley nurse who told me that my vaccination details were all up to date and just went through the questionnaire quickly. I went back and waited in the waiting roo again atill a nice radiographer man called me in and then took a really quick chest xray. I then wated again and then got called in by a female doctor. She went through forms again quickly eg..so u dont wear contacts, you have no allergies ect ect and i had to sign on the photograph. I then took a really quick eye test (read last line twice) she then checked my legs quickly, breasts very quickly. I then could get changed outta robe and she checked my pulse, blood pressure, looked at eyes and throats and then took my blood.

She was very very nice and asked questions about andrew, how i met him ect and even commented on how much i looked like Claire Danes (hehe)

At the end she ticked of critria aloud "eyes, fine Blood prssure normal" and basically tld me id passed and if something bad came back from the blood test result theyd call me but i was pretty much ready to go. They said the embassy would have results by Monday.

They then gave me a copy of medical form which i would need for AOS. i then went outside and paid £180, got my passport and vaccination notes back and i was done!!

Everyone there was British and everyone there was lovley! Was out by 40min MAX and was ready to get my booked train home.

Was very tired from the travelling but all in all an easy experience.

The Only step to go now is the interview.....NEARLY THERE :thumbs:

great post, congratulations and thanks for passing on your experience. Can you tell me where I can find a full list of the vaccinations required so I can see what vaccinations I need to get.

Good luck for your interview!

Stuart :)

Think this is the one. If you search the internet more often then not you wll find the answer to your questions.

I just made sure i had all my vaccinations up to date with NHS cuz i didnt want to pay at the Medical. Remeber that you dont need ALL the vaccinations on the lis as its age appropriate but the list should tell you whats appropriate or not.

If you had chicken pox you wont need Varicella
