Hi Everyone,

I talked with Dr. Arnold's office today and the conversation was very confusing. I asked if they would transcribe the results of the skin TB test on the I-693. They said that the TB skin test was not necessary (she says only the chest x-ray is required)! I mentioned that it was new requirement, but she said that their lawyer has not confirmed this, so the office is only willing to transcribe the immunization record on to the I-693. So now I am wondering how to get the results of the TB test done at the public health office transcribed onto the I-693. Help?

I was told that USCIS requires the TB skin test. If you were negative, then there's no reason to do a chest x-ray.

I had my medical examination last September and I had my TB skin test done somewhere else. Bring the record documenting the results of the TB skin test to your civil surgeon and have him/her note it down and/or include it in the envelope with the I-693.

TB-Test is in the full medical part of the I-693, NOT the vaccination section. You were tested for TB during the medical for your visa, it is not needed to be tested for again as part of the VACCINATION requirement of AOS.

If you were adjusting from a visitors visa, then YES TB test would be needed as part of a full I-693 medical.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Sorry, I am not quite getting it. Let me explain further. When my wife and stepson received their physical exams they received chest x-rays, both which were negative, but they did not receive the TB skin test. Is it the case that they do not need the skin test since the x-rays were negative? Thanks

When were their medical exams?

If before June 1, 2008, they do not need the TB test nor any new vaccines that came into effect in July.

Do you know what the next procedure is when the TB skin test comes back positive? A chest x-ray....

Does mean that since they did not have positive chest x-rays, they then do not need the skin test? Thats a relief. Thanks

I'm confused then. Why are looking for somebody to transcribe your vaccinations onto the I-693? Didn't the doctor who did their exam do this for you, since the new I-693 was already required?

One would have thought that the foreign physician would have reflected the TB test result (via x-ray) on the DS-2053

YMMV

These exams were done on in July 2008 in Ukraine as part of the visa process. They received chest x-rays that were negative, but did not receive skin tests. My question is must they now receive TB skin test for AOS? If so, how do we get the results of the skin test transcribed to the I-693. Dr. Arnold's office says they will not do it because they do not think that the skin test is required. If they won't do it, I guess that I will have to pay a CS to do it. Thanks

Sorry, for some reason I thought the exams were done here in the US.

Anyways, here is a website that explains it clearly: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...0004718190aRCRD

Look at the table on the bottom of that page.

It says that if the exam was done in June or July 2008, you are REQUIRED to follow the new TB testing requirement. So you will need to go to another CS if Dr. Arnold won't do it, or wait for an RFE.

Also per that website:

Q: Will USCIS accept Form I-693 if the civil surgeon performed a chest x-ray without the TST?

No, the civil surgeon must administer the TST, unless one of the exceptions listed in the Technical Instructions applies. If the civil surgeon performs a chest x-ray without giving the applicant the TST, the reason for omitting the TST must be noted on Form I-693.
