Hey guys!

Our lawyer called Vermont yesterday and it turned out that we were approved August 4th,our first approval was on March 26th.however the uscis website doesnt show any changes since our first approval.anyway she(the lawyer) said that our petition was transfered to NVC and it will take up to 90 days for them to approve or deny it.is it true?does it really take that long? she also said she can't track it right now so there's no guarantee the petition is actually at NVC,it might be just missing in the mail.so how do we check our status?

Thaks for your help.good luck in your journey.

being a k1 your post does not make any sense, because you mention 2 approvals. perhaps you mean noa1 and noa2? nvc usually takes only 1 or 2 weeks to process a k1 and you can call them and get your case no. and status. sorry, i don't have the no. handy.

Well i can tell you something from my own experience. Call NVC and talk to a live operator. You will have to be very patient because the line is very busy. The operator will ask for your case number and dates of births of petitionary and beneficiary, and of course your names. Then the operator will tell you when your approval was sent to NVC and when your approal was sent to your consulate. Then the operator will give you a new case number. I would suggest you to wait for one week (in my case i waited only 4 days , the american consulate in Lima) andcall the consulate, they will ask you for the NEW CASE NUMBER and if your package is there, they will give you the interview date.

In my case, the lawyer was useless. So do it yourself. You are very close to the end of your journey!!!

Good luck!!!!

As Vicki noted, it's important to remember that K1's are not entered into the automated system. You need to press 1 and then 5 to talk to a human. It's best to call either very early in the morning or abuot 10pm (est) to get through. They can tell you if/when your petition has reached NVC and if/when it was sent out. I would imagine your approved petition is probably at the Embassy so you may be better off calling DOS who can tell you if/when P3/info packet has been sent and if an interview has been scheduled yet. I'm at work so I don't have it but you can do a search for the #.
