I think the OP is talking about people who cuss all the time... like in all their normal day to day conversations...

Yes, you are correct MArilyn, like a normal discussion..You will think that someone is just talking just to talk.. but every sentences has a lot of cuss words..Especially if you dont really want to listen to them but since the table is too close to one another, I can hear even I dont want to.. and to think it is coming from a female, it just does not sound right.. One time, I was really bored, I had to count the cuss words she said in one day..for fun.,. but lately I am having a head aches..

Cussing by suprise does not mean anything, cussing when mad or upset is caused by emotion, but cussing when talking normal things... what will it be?

You guys will not want to bring this at home, where your kids can hear you and do the same thing..

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

A lot of my cuss words fall out of my mouth when I am driving. It makes me feel better, and no one can hear me and it feels like a release.

I also agree that cutsie cussing is lame. Either say it or just shut up.

I think it's funny to have a word we are not allowed to say. Don't eat the apple...why the hell not? I'm fvcking hungry!

Donne moi une poptart!

Some theories:

1. shock value

2. pure habit, like using 'uh' and 'um' every other word (a personal pet peeve)

3. it's what they grew up with and don't know any better

When it's used selectively, it's generally for emphasis... I confess to having more of a 'mouth' lately just from pure frustration. Somehow, using bad language is a release.

The line is drawn, in my mind, when you direct foul name calling in anger at someone else.... and are you intentionally hurtful, and you know it. It seems more 'acceptable' when you're directing it an object instead of a human being.

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

Jiminy cricket, lol.

The amount of swearing I do has to do with who I'm around and my comfort level. The more comfortable I am, the more I will swear.

My dad and his friends are horrible when they get together. Every other word is FUKC. And it's just an interjection, not necessarily trying to convey any anger or annoyance whatsoever.

yeah that is how it is when my hubby and his brothers get together...

hubby never talks to me like that... he does swear around me but when he talks to me he doesn't use the f word every other word...

I swear a lot more since I have met him though.... :P

I personally think the 'F' word is the worst.... and David, being from E. London, used/uses it casually in most of his sentences. That's not exactly 'socially acceptable' where we live and he did try hard to remove it from his everyday vocabulary and I tried to look past it otherwise. My kids are older now, so I wasn't as worried about his influence. They just thought it was funny. It did influence my communication in an argument though... foul words seem to flow much easier now than they used to.

Anyone know which regions of the country use swear vs. cuss vs. curse? AFAIK in the northeast it's swear, and it's cuss in the south, right? What do Californians say?

well I have never heard my hubby use the word cuss or curse.. he calls it swearing...
