Thank you all for your help we are still trying to figure out what we will do. We are thinking that after we get married that she will come to the states for 90 days then leave and then come back for another 90 days do that until she is given her immigration visa.

Thank you

Duane

Hey Duane,

The best thing to do is to get started on your I-130 petition ASAP (after you're married). It's really a lot easier than you think...but it can take a while for processing.

As far as the 90 days in and back goes...we thought of that. It's not illegal, but it's really risky. Technically, she's only allowed to be in the US for 6 months per year...

she could be denied entry at anytime. If the immigration officer takes the time to see that she had just been in the US for 90 days, or that she has on a wedding ring,

or if he just had a bad night's sleep, he could deny entry.

I know exactly how you feel. I wanted my wife in the US so much that I told her we'd drive to Canada once every 89 days, for a weekend getaway, and then drive back...if she was ever denied entry, I promised that we'd find a cheap apartment in Toronto or Windsor or somewhere, and stay there until her visa was approved.

Of course then we'd both have to deal with Canadian visa allowances.

In the end, we're glad we didn't try any of our crazy schemes, and we wish we had filed the petition sooner.

Good luck, and we're always here for sober advice. Love is quite intoxicating.
