My I-129F was approved in May, but I haven't completed the rest of the application, nor have I set up an interview. My fiancee and I thought we would move to America (we are both in Korea now) in March '09, but we may want to wait until July or August of '09. This is what I've read on the US Embassy site in Seoul

"Signed and dated letter from the petitioner addressed to the U.S. Consul, reaffirming the petitioner's intent to sponsor the beneficiary as a fiancé and to marry in the U.S. This reaffirmation letter will revalidate the I-129F if its USCIS approval is more than 4 months old;"

It's just about impossible to reach someone at the embassy via phone, so I want to know if someone else has done this. I know that once the K1 Visa has been granted, we have to move within six months. That's why I want to schedule the interview possibly in February, which will be 9 months after the 129F was approved. Can I just include a letter stating that I still want to marry my fiancee and everything will be valid? I would think that after a while they might just toss the application

If you take a look at my timeline you will see that I managed to slow down the process at a few intervals by delaying responses on the paperwork. At the interview you can also request a delay of the issuance of the visa. I was told that I could either have them issue it that day or I could send them my passport when I was ready to leave.

You need to stay in contact with the Consulate so they do not return your petition due to abandonment. I am sure they will work with you and explain what they can do if you give them the chance

YMMV

Yes, just email or write them. Should be no problem. Did they send the P3 yet?
