Hi, I'm new here and I'm just wondering if there is anybody out there who like me waited awhile (I'm talking 5 years of marriage) before filing for AOS who's not on K-1 visa? I just wanted to know how long the wait is for the AOS to get approved. Just want a general idea. I was on F-1 visa by the way.

It depends on your local office. You will be scheduled for an interview, can be a couple of months to a year.

AOS Approved on 10-17-08 (details in profile)

Removal of Conditions on 07-19-10

In this tedious process, we tend to forget that this is all worth it.

I love my hubby beyond anything in this world.

I am somewhat in the same boat, well, my husband and I been married for almost 7 years this coming December but now just decided to get my status here in the US because we we're staying in Canada. For us it wasn't weird that we are taking a long time because we really didn't know where we want to live back then, I am a Canadian Citizen and we we're confused considering his career is really flexible so we go where the job is. Good luck on your AOS :D
