Hi Everyone,

I've posted in the 'Effects' forum about the fact that David and I are divorcing. I'm not sure how active I'll be in VJ once he's gone and my life has settled down... I've made some good friends here and I'd like to think that I'll still be active but I wonder how hurtful of a reminder it might be....

I just wondered, for those of you whose relationships have not survived, how active you are on VJ and why.... I probably didn't ask the right questions or offer the right answer choices, but I thought I'd start the dialogue to see what people think.

Even if you ARE in a happy relationship with your SO... feel free to post your thoughts. I'm interested to hear what people think about this.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

I would honestly still come here.

I love the people here. It is like a big family: we fight, cry and laugh together. I have frequented many forums in the post and I honestly love coming here.

You should stick around...Maybe just visit the off topic forum for a while, it might not be as hard for you.

I hope the pain eases a bit with time! (((hugs again)))

In this tedious process, we tend to forget that this is all worth it.

I love my hubby beyond anything in this world.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Jen, it's not bad, really. You came here for support/questions, etc, and you should stay for the same support from the friends you've made here.

It's actually more comforting than a hurtful reminder. I hope you stay :luv:

Firsty Jen I am very sorry for your break up

I would like to think that people who have broken up would still visit here and give advise, as all of us just starting out on this process are so greatfull for the help that we receive, and a saying that I often use is that there is no greater gift than giving. That is as long as it does not cause you any additional hurt.

I for one would like to give you my support if you need it, for all of the support that you have given to other members on this site

I wish you much happiness in your future

Shaz

Thanks so much Shaz... I'm not sure how much I can contribute to people's actual process in the future, but I suppose that keeping up with the inevitable USCIS changes through through this board can help...

Given all of the kindness and support that has been offered to me here over the last couple of weeks, I would be a fool to turn my back on such wonderful people.

Thanks Lori... I've come to that same conclusion over the last few days.... everyone has been very patient and tolerant of my ramblings (no one has flamed me yet!) and I'd like to think that something I have posted will help someone else.

Honestly I couldn't tell you what I would do...

I very much respect and admire people who post about their failed relationships in a mature, classy way (like Jen) and think it would be a shame if those experiences are not shared.

I think everybody stands to benefit from other people's relationship struggles and issues and I personally like to read about the USC's perspective on these issues. It's so easy to be wrapped up in our own problems and lose sight of the bigger picture.
