ds-156 in Russian

Hi, I have a simple question:

:help:

We are filling out form DS-156, in Russian, for the US Embassy in Moscow. The Embassy has given specific instructions that the form must be filled out in Russian.

Questions 24 and 25 (address you will stay at in the US and name of the person living there) only make sense if they are filled out in English. Should these two questions be filled out in English or Russian?

We assume English, but just want to make sure we're doing it right.

Thanks!

I don't know how you'd "translate" an American address to Russian.

In Cyrillic Russian we don't translate "Prospect" to some American word as part of the Russian street address if writing the address in English.

We will have to do the same when Maria gets the Packet 3.

I downloaded both the Russian and the English forms and sent to her in advance.

I read somewhere that one purpose of all this Fed administrivia BS is not to ask the question in an unambiguous manner it is to see if they can "trap" us into doing or revealing something that would disqualify us. That comes from a web site on the pitfalls of immigration K visas.

When's your interview?

Our petition is at NVC waiting to be sent to Moscow.

Would you be kind enough to fill out your timeline so everyone can see where you are in your process?

It also helps in graphing the statistics.

Have you gone to the Link on VJ "Immigration Timelines"?

This can show you everyone's who's put in their info properly and where they are in the process.

We do this to help each other.

Thanks, I filled out the timeline as best I could. Unfortunately, I didn't see this forum until now, so I don't have all the dates.

I agree, it seems that English is the only option for those answers, but again, want to make sure we don't do something that will disqualify us. If anyone else has an opinion or knowledge about my previous question, please let me know.

Pitfalls of K visa web site? Mind sharing the link?
