I thought that the really small A6 size would be too small, but it's actually great. I would recommend it as a starter one for sure. I figured that if I eventually needed it for work, well, work can provide me with a bigger one!

ILM would be pretty cool to work for. I suppose switching in to VFX or animation would involve a move? Where are you guys?

I'll look into the sizes...I have to admit - I'm quite ignorant when it comes to tablets.

I'm in the OC, but work in LA (Culver City). My dream was to work for Disney or Pixar when I finished college...still held onto that dream for awhile but then have become a bit complacent working in video games. It's a tough business...I got my start in TV animation but the regular layoffs were enough to scare me away and find something more stable.

Well you're in the right place then! You've got all the studios within reach. I knew a guy back in London worked for animation studios (but not on the actual animation) for 10 years over here. He said he was always moving between SF and LA, and his wife, who was an illustrator always seemed to be in the opposite city. That's why they eventually moved to London! (he now works in film - there's very little animation in the UK) Do you know if the animation studios use similar programs to the video games people? I work in film, I don't know anything about the animation side of things.

We mainly use Maya and 3DS Max for the actual computer animation, but the artists who do the initial concepts and designs mainly work in Photoshop. Studios like Pixar have their own proprietary software.

Well, I just asked one of our designer artists about his tablet. He uses the Wacom Intuos 6 X 8...says he doesn't really need anything bigger. It's something I definitely want to get....digital painting is much much cheaper than the traditional, although I still like getting my hands onto a real canvas. For cartoon illustrations though, I can see how digital is the way to go. :)

the artist has a creative streak that i wish i had..and the inner drive to be successful, by his definition...and really, what else matters..

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).
