I thought I'd share this. It's been awhile since I picked up a pencil and sketched anything, but had the opportunity at work to come up with some conceptual art for a video game. I've painted with oil, gouche and acrylic back in college but never used Photoshop to 'paint' with. I'm happy with the results - was using my right hand and a mouse (no tablet) and I normally draw and paint with my left hand. I really had fun with this and want to get back to illustrating...would love to make some children's books, possibly a cartoon strip. I'm hoping once Jinky has her license to practice dentistry here in the states, I can work from home and pursue those ambitions. :)

1. Used this photo of Monique as a reference.

3. Painted version using Photoshop.

Thank you, brother. I should be doing more drawing and painting...I don't want to be stuck making video games all my life.

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

what about being a video game artist? are you a programmer right now?

I'm an animator...would love to be animating for film. The types of animation I am stuck doing for video games are not as demanding.

VFX houses might be a way of moving from one to the other, I know that there are many people who move between the two.

BTW, that's amazing mouse work, you should get a tablet, I have a small bamboo one (just the A6 size) for some VFX that I do (just temp, not professional) but I love it, it was one of the best £50 I ever spent.

I know some college classmates who've been working for ILM for awhile now. :)

I definitely want to get a tablet. For the longest time, I thought if I get back into painting, I'd do it the traditional way, but I'm willing to give it a try on the computer. I have a full version of Illustrator but have never used it....just need to make the time to actually do it at home.
