Thanks BeantownBabe,

Yes it cool until he asks me those two questions, I froze for second..When he asked me why I did not go back, I started stammering a bit, "I was like I..I..I don't know..lol it was kinda funny..and surprisingly he never ask me the questions off the I-485 form, not one and I went over those while we were in the car heading over there. Oh! he also ask me if I would do anything for a green card after asking why I did not go back to my country.

I was a bit surprised because he asked my husband most of the questions, he only ask me like 3 questions or so where I had to get detail about but other than that, my husband, he actually explained why I was a good fit and that our marriage was real. You know when you go to a job interview and they ask you why u are the best candidate for the job, it was kinda like that in a way.

I read somewhere that female IO are more harsh than the male IO, that they deny you for any missing or insufficient information. I immediately thought about you CanadianMade and your case where you said you had an older woman and its true, i don't know if they do it now but before Canadians didn't or don't have inspection documents. Hopefully you will hear something soon.

Congrats Gyspyangel and others for your approval and receiving your actual card.

Hey my October filers,

I just got back from my interview and we were approved. Got passport stamped! Yay!!:dance:

Here's how the experience went:

We arrived at 7:45a, had appointment at 8am. Got through security check and sat for 5mins and was called in. Here goes-

The officer, Mr Brown, instructed us to this office and told me where to sit and my husband as well. He told us to raise our hand and swear that we tell the truth and we sat down.

He started asking me for me for my passport and EAD or travel document (I didn't apply for AP), and our driver's license,he then asked me how did I enter the United States, he asked if it was 2004 (because my I-94 says that) but I told him I came on a student visa in 2001.He looked at the visa attached to my passport. He saw that my visa expired in 2005 but i didn't finish my program then, I got an extension from the Director at the college, he submitted something to extend my I-20. He then said the school cannot extend my stay, immigration does that. At this point I started getting nervous, then he asked me why I didn't return to Trinidad, man I choked, he caught me off guard, I didn't know what to say, He was like "So you just didn't feel like going back" lol! I wanted to piss my pants..lol He then proceeded to ask for any account information and anything with our names and i handed him our six months banks statement, lease and utility bills. All doing this by taking notes while flipping through pages. He asked my husband then me if we were still at the same address, our telephone numbers and social security numbers and we replied*yes*.

He began starting to ask my husband (USC), where and when we met and our relationship, when we decided to get married. Now, my husband is very intelligent, he is into politics and stuff so HE CAN TALK !! OMG!! lol. He talked about the decisions he made while he was in Atlanta and decided to move to SC and all that.

The the I.O asked me if I had any relatives in the United States, I said I have a brother, he also ask what is your brother's status? He is a permanent resident. He ask me is how he obtained his permanent residence. He was married, now he was only married for 2 and a half years. So the IO was like " So he got his residence through this marriage " Yes..Needless to say, it looked bad at that moment, it looked that my brother just got his green card by marrying his wife and then left her after" but it was just didn't work out. I was extremely nervous at this point. He didn't say but he was implying this.He proceeded to tell my husband that green card fraud is a rampant thing and they need to check up on that, they have systems set up and he can tell by the way people interact with each other such as shaking their legs, moving their hands and moving their eyes etc.. My husband reassured him that our marriage was real and they got into conversation again.

He then said that he is going to approve me today, he took out my I-94 from my passport to show that I came in the United States legally and I need to remove the conditions in 2 yrs and they do this just to check up on the marriage before approving long term permanent residence. My husband thought I did such a good job on filing that he asked him how do you apply for the these type of jobs.. (My husband is something) He actually wrote down a website and give it to me. Could you believe that? Other than that, it was a good experience, it was like a regular conversation you would have with someone you met.

I want to thank everyone for their support and help towards my journey and I will definitely stick around when its time to remove conditions and citizenship. Also experiencing everyone good news and being supportive toward them as well.

Hope all the upcoming interview go well and CanadianMade, I'm praying for you, I hope you get some news and please contact them , I believe they have 30 days to make a decision. HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY EVERYONE!!

Just wanted to quickly say Good Luck today, Sweets!!! Look forward to the story!

How exciting!!! Even though you say you choked a bit, it seemed like a good interview! Congratulations, I'm very very happy for you! Thanks for all the positive energy over these past months - we've all needed and appreciated it! No get your behind back home to Trini and REALLY celebrate!!!

So I called USCIS last Friday and they said that the card production for EAD was ordered and that we should receive it within 2 weeks (praying). AND today we got the biometrics letter for the AOS (March 11th)......I am wondering why they have to do one for AOS and one for the EAD.....Why not just use one for both? Not like his finger prints would have changed since then. Anyway its a good sign anyway. Hopefully this means we are on our way to an interview date within a month or 2. *praying even more*

Sending interview vibes for you!!!

Thank you SweetnSexc, yeah it seems to me the female IO are much more strict and pettier than the male IO, the woman was older and was an indian lady who barely spoke English, like seriously, how can they have someone be an interviewer who doesnt speak good English,, you wonder how she got her green card. I have nothing against Indian people at all nor anyone of any race, colour, or country, but damn someone who didnt speak English throws me. I really do hope I hear something soon and it is so rediculous that we have to wait this long to hear an answer. I could live if the woman told us if it was an FBI name check, something, but didnt tell us a damn thing. All I found out since contacting our congressman is that they case is with the supervisor for review. It was very generic the letter and it kills me that they tell people these things and its not something that we didnt already know. Its also a problem because we had plans to go to Canada and I also planned on enrolling into school this summer, so I have no clue, I was told to wait another 60 days then I can do something. CONGRADS to you and glad you dont have to experience this bullshit I am going through right now at the end of the process.

My husband got his EAD card today! WOW! A lot quicker than we thought. Going to get his SS stuff taken care of tomorrow and see if he can get a DL or if he will need to take the test which means he has to study the book. But either way WE CAN START MOVING FORWARD! WOOHOOO!

Congrads **Love** on receiving your husbands EAD. I am glad you finally got some good news as your process has been such a rough one and I do hope that from this point everything will be smooth sailing. I hope you get that interview letter soon. At least now you guys are able to do something, like get his SSN, drivers license and he can finally get a job. In the meantime try to get his name on as much stuff as you guys can once his SSN arives in the mail.

Great news!!! Valerie was approved on Tuesday for her green card! She should receive it in the mail within the next two weeks! So happy that it is all over.....at least for 2 years! ;) Interview was quick and painless. Our interview was scheduled at 9:00 a.m., and we were called in at 9:15. Interview ended at 9:25! The adjudication officer just looked over our paperwork, asked where we met and when we began living together. He then asked for her EAD card and said that she was approved. He didn't ask for ANY type of evidence regarding our relationship. We had bank statements, phone bills, insurance policies...etc. But, he didn't ask for any of them! Unreal! After, Valerie said, "Don't you even want to look at our wedding photo album?" He smiled and said, "I guess I have a few minutes." Kinda amusing. But, for us, it was as easy as could be. I know some people have a little bit of a tougher time than we had, but for everyone preparing for your interview...just relax, be yourself, and don't work yourself up by worrying. If you're marriage is legit and you've done everything the right way from the beginning, you have nothing to worry about! Good luck to everyone, and thank you for all of your input and support during our journey!

Thank you.... :) Yeah we are going to try to do that asap. At the moment all we really have with both names is our bank account and the lease has his name on it. Havent had enough money to do anything else. Any other suggestions?

Your welcome, do you have health, life, dental and vision threw your work, you can add him to that, car insurance, cell phone plan, you can even do something like order a magazine subscription with both of your names, memberships to the gym, movies that kind of thing.

I guess we can do the magazine though we dont really read any magazines. I believe our renters insurance has both of our names. I would do the gym thing but we just dont have the money for it. At the moment I am covered under medicaid so I cant add him to that. Hmm I added him as a beneficiary at work we can also get some mail that he has gotten here such as letters from his family. Just with a family on a strict budget can only do so much to show things with both of our names. :( Maybe we can sign up for a few things once he starts working.....the internet is under his name onlybut it has our address on there.....would that work?

I know what you mean by money being tight, money was tight and still is tight for the both of us you know, so its hard to do certain things when money isnt there at the moment. You can get something like a sams club membership, if you guys have kids, you can both be added as emergency contacts for the school. Eventhough you guys may not read magazines, that could be a way where you guys can get both names on the subscription, or even a newspaper subscription, a libary card, a blockbuster card together, just try to be creative with it is pretty much what I am saying. You can get some affidavits from friends and family stating you guys are a real married couple who lives together in the same residence etc etc. The internet would work if it has the same address and as long as you have the same address on your ID as the bill you should be good. I know money is tight for you guys, but just try to do as much as you guys can. Good luck to you guys.

Congratulations!
