Thanks alot Rosie and nice to hear from you again. I am sorry to hear what is going on in your current job and I do hope you do get that job opportunity in San Diego, what position is it you are going for if you dont mind me asking? I do hope to get my green card and tommorow I am on day 14 :(

Thank you so much Canadianmade. I will be going for the same position I am right now, just a smaller office so I will probably do more than a specific task like I am doing now. I'm in the shipping industry so in the end it's all the same stuff :)

I can't belive you're still left there hanging. I am so sorry about this and I really believe good news are on the way to you, but it's really cruel the way they keep you hanging.

Keep us posted if you have any news (even a little "touch" on your application).

Rosie-

Sorry to hear about your job situation..but everything will work out..its in your favor.

Thank you so much SweetnSexc! I really appreciate it :)

Oh ok I think it is so terrible you have to worry about your job in this crappy economy. I do hope you do get this opportunity in San Diego as the good news is its alot warmer there than Chicago. Yeah tell me about it, it is totally inhumane to keep people in the dark about their decision and it is so irritating. I do hope to get some word soon and I will definately inform everyone any news I receive. Thanks for the support. Good luck to you on your interview and you will be fine.

Yeah, I consider the warmer weather to be a "bonus", but right now I am more concerned to be able to keep working :)

It is VERY inhumane they still haven't gotten back to you. I do believe I read somewhere they have a certain time to respond, and beyond that time they HAVE to give you an answer one way or another, but I can't remember where I read that. Let me make some research..

I understand Rosie and for sure maintaining a job is the most important, I did mean the warm weather being bonus. Absouletly this is very inhumane, I would think, if you already had your interview, that you should at least know your faith at the interview or at least within a week or so, or something. I wasnt given any hints or anything to work with, so we are here in the dark with nothing to work on. Thank you so much for willing to research what you mentioned and I really would love to find this info out because this is really rediculous.

I found the source but it was for Naturalization, not for the Green Card, sorry :(

If I were you if I don't hear/receive anything by the end of the month, I would schedule an Infopass. Do you remember the name of the officer that interviewed you? That might be helpful. I have a friend who waited about 1 month without hearing anything (I just asked her because I remember it took her a while..), then her husband (US Citizen) started calling, faxing, emailing and requesting information always mentioning the officer that interviewed them and sure enough, they probably got tired of the nagging and finally approved them. At this point I would stop waiting and would start bombarding them with requests :)

That is ok Rosie and thank you kindly for trying and searching for that info, I greatly appreciate it. I will definately take that advice you just mentioned about if I dont hear anything by the end of the month, oh I will absouetly raise hell, I am not kidding around, I think this is absouletly ridiculous and messed up to have people be in the dark like this. I really dont remember the name of the IO, but all I know is she was an older indian or pakistani lady. Thank you so much for talking to your friend and asking for that info about their experience that applies to our experience, it is very helpful and good to hear that I am not the only one who has gone through this. I will take that advice and start putting some action into play and harass the hell out of these people. I just responded to a thread in the AOS thread, this couple had their AOS interview on Dec 10, 2008 I believe and they still havent heard anything about their decision from the interview in 10 weeks, no verbal approval nothing, I believe they are from the U.K., unbelievable and they are in Seattle. This is an example of cruel and inhumane treatment from USCIS, I cant believe it and I am on day 16, lol sometimes I have to lol but its not funny at all, its crazy. Thank you Rosie honestly, and I know you will get approved at your interview and wouldnt wish this ####### on anyone.

Trust me, if I would be in your same sitauation (and I might be, a couple of weeks from now..) I would be very upset myself. Consider my future job depends on the fact I get my Green Card in a timely manner, so it would be very frustrating not knowing what to expect, or what to say to my possible future employer!

My friend is from Germany, and her application took 2 years before she was called for the interview. When she went, they told them they forgot to file a form (she couldn't remember which) and they had to start all over from scratch. Consider they never received an RFE! At that point her husband stood up, asked to talk to a supervisor and they let them file the missing form right there, but they didn't approve them at the interview. A month goes by and she still hadn't heard anything, so her husband started to be really upset and called and called and called until he got a hold of the officer that was on their case, and a week after the phone call, they received the Welcome letter in the mail.

Even if you don't know the name of the officer, I would still try to call and get a supervisor, or better, go there on Infopass and ask for the officer that interviewed you or a supervisor. It can't hurt :)

Thank you Rosie, and yeah I am on day 17 lol with no news. Yeah we are quite upset about the whole situation because again its totally wrong and cruel to leave people hanging. It also doesnt make it very healthy because eventhough I am here legally and I am able to work and stuff, I am technically considered to only have the right to work nothing else. I do want to get this green card to travel to Canada with my wife and start school this summer. I believe you will get your green card in time for your new prospective employer and I think that puts alot of pressure on you to have to have the green card for this job. I think it is so terrible what your friend had to experience and I dont blame her husband for getting pissed off about not knowing anything and good for them for pushing the issue and getting approved, we are definately going to bother the hell out of USCIS. I also never got a RFE in my process at all, so I dont know what it is,and I am assuming the indian lady who interviewed us had to get a supervisor to review our case, but it still shouldnt take this long. I am thinking by the end of this month, if we dont hear anything we will have to make an infopass to find out our status. I think it sucks they have lead us to believe that everything was going smooth and I got my appointment really fast and I have zero complaints on this, but at the end, we are still left wondering whats going on. I would be really insulted if they told us to come back for an 2nd interview because of this woman, and honestly if they felt we were a fraud or something, I am more than sure they would have suspected that and told us right there and then we have to come back in for a 2nd interview and made us stay longer than 25min. I just hope they are busy and backed up or something, but you would think they would finish what they started with the person who conducted our interview would give us your decision and move on to the next person, not drag it in the dirt.

- Life insurance, change of beneficiary information with me listed

- U-promise account information with both of us listed

- Notarized letter from when my sister visited at Christmas (saying she visited us in our home...)

- Two printed photo books

- Loose photos (for IO to pick and keep in file)

- Print out of congratulationary e-mails (form the birth of our baby/our wedding)

- Assortment of cards sent to us

I think that is it unless I'm forgetting something...We'll take everything, but I'm not even anticipating needing it all, especially some of the more minor stuff. What do you guys think? Anything else I should add? My name is not on the house deed or the utility bills...

Thanks!

Finally, I recieved the Green Card today....

Hope everyone will have it soon.

Hi again guys.Congrats to all who got approved!!!Good luck to rest of us:)

Well so I scheduled an infopass for the 27th of February.that was the closest date I could get.and my interview date is a week after that.

I'm kinda freaked out, I don't know why they wanted me to go to infopass before my interview. I guess I'll find out.

I'm getting everything ready and taking them with me to the infopass though.

I do have a question about the interview. What happens at the end of the interview? They sometimes stamp the passport sometimes not?

Or even they don't tell you if you are approved??(that's just cruel) If they don't stamp the passport does that mean I'm not approved???
