Last week we got an email saying his EAD had been approved on January 26th and he would get his card in 30 days... We got an email from Cris again today saying his EAD was approved on 2/2 and he would get it in 30 days... What's up with THAT??? Is he going to get 2 cards??? So weird... hope the FIRST one is the right one...

Anyone else have this happen to them?

Hey CanadianMade,

I am sorry to hear about your experience..like Beantownbabe said, maybe that is how the lady's demeanor is...maybe she had kore interview that day...you know, I am not nervous at all for my upcoming interview..I am really concerned with getting someone like that..HONESTLY..cuz that will just piss me the &@#$ OFF...Don't try to make my day a bad one because of what you are experiencing in your day.....and trust, I know how you feel..you worked to hard to prove your relationship and for someone to look at you and say, I need more..is ridiculous..and they can't sniff the ones that only do it for a green card..and still give the ones a hard time when there relationship is genuine...

But have no fear..I believe when someone else reviews..they would see that your paperwork is on order and everything will be fine..I know it can be frustrating waiting on these people for a decision..but have faith and I'm sure it will work out. Keep your head up and your wife is your support system so all is well.

Hey SweetnSexc thank you so much for your reply back and for your words of encouragement, I totally appreciate it, Beantownbabe, KimCorne, CrystalBlue and you are very wise, and right, if it was something more serious like, we will need to do a 2nd interview, then I would know about it right there and then. As you pointed out, I do think it is unfortunate to have my relationship questioned by this IO, and it is totally genuine. I really hope you dont get assigned an IO that we had yesterday, and we felt very confident as well, but sometimes a wrench gets thrown in. Thank you for the support and I will definately stay positive and hope for the best. Thank you.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience, I think it serves to remind everyone we all might get the grumpy unpleasant officer at our interviews, and should prepare for that (or as we say back home a 'jobsworth').

Fingers crossed for a speedy approval

Yes, and I've seen many people post about this. We got 2 CRIS emails exactly a week apart and each one said the EAD was approved on the day of the email. It's weird, but I'm thiinking the 1st email is when they approve it, the 2nd is when your case is touched again when they actually print & send the card. It just says the same thing because they don't change it.

3/5/11 sent LOC paperwork

3/9/11 date of NOA

?/?/?? biometrics appointment

Hey Fuzzymiss thanks for your post and yeah it was a total bad experience. You are right, stuff like this does really happen to people and be well prepared, because you dont know what kind of mood these IO are going to be in that day of your interview. Thanks for the good luck and hopefully I get the approval.

Hey Canadianmade, sorry I was a little busy with work and stuff, so I didn't get a chance to post sooner.

I know you'll be approved. Just watch out for that CRIS email that will tell you "Card Production Ordered". Yes, you had a grumpy officer, but nothing in what you said is a reason to deny your application, so hang in there my friend until the good news find their way to you.

You will get your Green Card, be sure of that :star:

Hey Canadianmade,

That stinks dude. I'm sure it's just a grumpy old f8ck like I got at my Embassy interview - the woman who collected all the papers was nasty. But we got through and so will you.

Back in 1995 I won a greencard in the lottery and came to the US for a few months - but my heart wasn't in it as my kids were so small and my Mum had just died so i returned to Ireland only to meet Mercedes 10 years later. I'm sure that that will be brought up in the interview - they had the original greencard stuff in my folder during my London Embassy interview. And did you all know, they used to call Portland, DePortland? Airlines stopped flying to Portland from Asia as business people were being sent back on the next plane, famously known as the worst immigration officials in the US. Anyway, as the city was loosing money as a result they launched an inquiry into it and sacked a bunch of people. All the guys they sacked for being too strict are now working in USCIS I'll bet.

I was thinking when I was reading about denials - which you won't get - they are always based on immigration fraud, right? Seriously though, why would anyone from a developed country such as Canada or Ireland or the UK want to come to the US (the legal way anyway) when they could stay home and work and contribute for the 3-6 months that we have all waited for our EADs. Our life got immeasurably harder as a result of moving to the US and we are down to one (lower) wage as Mercedes is at Law School. Plus, the price of living is much higher here. I ####### you not, if it wasn't for love I wouldn't have done it in a million years.

Anyway, I'm getting wound up about getting an interview already when 99% of K1's get no interview. By St Paddy's Day I'll be a walking car wreck.

R

PS We lived with each other for 3 years in Ireland before coming here so that's why I refer to us moving here.
