EAD got a touch today.......Yeeehawwww!

Congrads on getting your EAD touched, that means you will be receiving the approval email in no time.

I just got a letter from the USCIS saying we have an interview on March 17th at 11am.

You know, I nearly could have bet money on it being that date. We will be in Portland anyway for St Patrick's Day and it will be one year to the day after we got our K1 NOA2. God that seems so long ago now.

I'm surprised we got an interview this late in the day but here's hoping it goes smooth. There is a lot of stuff to gather now. Wish us luck and all the best to the new EAD people. Happy Job Hunting.

Unfortunately the spreadsheet doesn't have a column for date of transfer to CSC, but there's around 20 of us on the list who are at CSC.

HAHAHA sorry yes type indeed! its october 27 for the NOA thanks for catching it

yeah thats mostly what i am looking for, people who filed in oct, got transferred, if any of us got approvals yet.

i know a friend here in vj who filed sept, tfred to csc a day after i did and already got approved - so it kinda disheartened me but oh well not much we can do about it really....

Hey guys, this is Canadian Made's wife, I'm going to jump in:) Here's how our interview experience went today.

Well, first, the interveiwer was very old and very procedural, so it seemed like she has been doing this for a long time.

She had a very soft voice and was hard to understand her and she also had accent, so it was hard to understand her.

We got asked the usual questions like, our names, our address, how and when we met, when we got married and where, who proposed to who, asked us to see wedding pictures, asked us who were the people in the pictures, asked me questions on the I-485 and G-325A form, stuff like that.

She just didn't seem to like any of our answers. I will give you a couple of examples.

Interviewer: "What assets do you guys have together?"

Me: "We have a joint checking account. We filed taxes jointly. He is my life insurance beneficiary of 120,000.00, and I cover him on my health insurance."

Interviewer: "When did you open this account?"

Me: "A few months ago."

Interviewer: "And how long have you been married?"

Me: "Almost a year."

Interviwer: "Why did you wait so long?"

Me: "I havn't even had a bank account for about ten years. I don't like them or believe in them, but my husband wanted us to have one, so we opened one, and I told him to manage it and he has and we havn't bounced anything."

That is the truth, but it didn't seem to please her.

Interviewer: "Have you taken any vacations together?"

Canadian Made: "No we havn't"

Interviewer: "Why not?"

Me: "We were saving money for the immigration process."

Canadian Made: "We will be going to Canada after I get my green card. That will be our first vacation together."

Again...this didn't seem to please her.

It was like, if we couldn't go to Paris or buy a boat together, it just wasn't a valid marriage. It was rediculous. We are so valid we make people around us sick...lol. Unless I'm at work or school, we go EVERY WHERE together. There is a new song out that's called lucky, and the lyrics say "I'm so lucky to be married to my best friend." A mutual friend of ours said that when she hears that song she thinks of us, and yet here we are trying to prove we are in love. This is so awful.

Another confusing part was that 95% of the questions were directed at canadian made. This was even a problem at first because we did not know that if she was looking at one us when she asked the question, that one could be the only one to answer. We ARE a married couple and like alot of us, one of us is the spokes person and that's me...lol. Well, when she asked my husband a question and I went to answer for him, it was the first and only time I did this, she said "He must answer, and you should move away from him so he feels more independent from you," She actually made me sit a chair away from him during the entire interview:(

It just seemed like we rubbed her wrong from the beginning and we have no idea why, and like we didn't answer any questions the way she wanted us to.

The last thing that happened was she got up, walked to the door, opened it and said, "If we have any other questions, you will be notified by mail." and we walked out:( We have no idea what to think.

Word of advice to those who have upcoming interviews is to prepare and prepare for anything and everything, you just never know, we were well prepared, but the IO asked alot of really irrelevant questions. The whole interview lasted for about 25min, so we are waiting to see what happens. What do you guys think?

I know you are CandaianMade's wife but still - give him a hug from me!!!

I'm sorry your experience wasn't the greatest, but don't count yourselves out. I bet you will still be approved, even with a frosty reception like the one you had - think of it like this: the worst that can happen is that they will give you a second interview - you guys are the best of friends so you would pass it easily! Anyway, I don't think it will even get that far. I believe the IO's demeanor is just "how she is" (the old boot!) and everyone that gets her probably comes out of the room feeling the same way. Don't worry, you guys will be celebrating in no time!

CanadianMade, keep your head up - you've had so many encouraging things to say to each and every one of us here, that I can only hope and pray for the best of results for you. Go and kiss your lovely wife and wait for your approval letter!

Hey Canadianmade, don't worry- I'm sure if you hadn't been approved you would have walked out of that office certain of it. Based on what I've read, I find that when people are unsure of the outcome of the interview, they've always been approved, not denied. We would all love to be one of those people who get a definite "Yes, you're approved", but not every IO will use those words. So cheer up!

Hey Kim, thank you so much for the words of encouragement, and I hope that we got approved for the green card. I wouldnt wish this experience on anyone nor even my worse enemy. I thought we would be one of those people that would know the outcome of our interview with an APPROVED, but I guess not everyone gets that outcome. Thanks again and will keep you guys posted.
