Hello Fellow October Filers :star:

We had our interview yesterday, Jan. 27th, in Seattle. The IO was a nice guy. He made us swear that we would tell nothing but the truth. He went through my papers first while asking my husband questions on how we met and they talked about his job. As they were talking, I had readied the copies of the supporting papers which I submitted for the three of us, for my 2 children and mine.

The atmosphere was not tensed as he was a cordial person. Then he asked me for joint account bank statements, car insurance, and health insurance. Then, he stamped my papers with "APPROVED" :star:

Next, he asked my 12-year-old son of his name, age and how was he doing in school while checking his papers. He then stamped it with "APPROVED" :star:

My 7-year-old daughter was the last. He was so amused because she's talkative and told him how her classmates mispronounced her name. He also stamped her papers "APPROVED".

It later became a flowing conversation regarding the dialects in my country. He then told us that so far our papers have no problem and we are approved but another person would check them again. They would just call me if in case they would need something ( hopefully all goes well) :innocent:

He said the green card will arrive in the mail and we should file for the removing of conditions 90 days before the expiration date but not to wait for a week before it expires.

Congrats to us all who have been approved lately

howdy fellow october filers so here is the skinny on my husband's interview:

arrived at the building at 9am for a 9:10 interview waited maybe 40 minutes for our officer who was very pleasant, not friendly but nice. (some of the others we saw/heard were completely rude and grouchy)

took the oath

went over some questions that were somehow missed in the application

she looked at the passport/i-94

both state issued identification cards (hubby has only i.d. not ready to drive yet dangit can't wait to turn the car keys over)

asked a couple of questions surrounding how we met and started dating and who proposed

asked for bills/bank statements (she took less than 1/4 of what we brough)

lease agreements

looked a few photos (returned them)

said she would recommend approval and had to get a supervisor to sign off

she left for about 15 minutes

when she came back she took the a/p and ead and gave us a notice saying congrats he was approved!

relatively painless!

i wish you all the best of luck and that you have as easy and painless a process as we had!

Hello Everyone,

Just got home from the interview and it was a success. My wife was nervous and quick to answer questions before the interviewer finished asking but in the end we got approved. The interviewer asked questions like when we dated, how we met, did i meet her family? etc. She then asked about my divorce and I guess she had questions about the fact that I divorced and married right away but I explained that I filed for divorce years before it actually came to an agreement. In all the lady stated that she wanted to be sure that we were not getting married for just a green card.

My wife got her I-551 stamp and will be recieving her green card in the mail within a month. In all Im just glad this part is over and we can now focus on our life together.

Thank you all for your support throgh this process. It was easy knowing that I could read and find out things on this forum. If anyone has any questions Ill be glad to answer based on our experience.

Thanks and good luck to everyone.

Congratulations to all of the Green Card approvals!! :)

I'm going in tomorrow for 9:30 AM interview... Hopefully I have good story to share!

Here are the items we are taking:

- joint account bank statements (past 3 months)

- copy of my associate profile from work where his name is listed as spouse

- my 401k statement where his name is stated as beneficiary

- church membership card and letter that listed both of our names

- traveling itinerary (trip to Korea) that listed both of our names

- about 10 cards/letters we sent to each other before we got married

- tons of pictures with family, friends and at the wedding

- taking all the USCIS issued items, and tax returns, pay stub

We don't have any lease together because I already owned a house before we got married and it was pain to add his name to the bills since everything required his SSN, and he didn't get his until 2 wks ago. :(

Hopefully our interview goes smoothly.
