hello everyone!

i am so surprized i have not found this thread earlier.

there is actually another October AOS thread where a lot of March K1 Vermont filers were posting. We kind of stuck together and filed for AOS around the same date.

We filed October 16 and i have my biometrics next Wednesday.

One thing is a little weird. Neither of my receipt numbers can be pulled out on the USCIS website. Like they did not upload our case or something.

Do you think i should call and have them fix it?

Anyone else in the same situation?

quite a few people have had difficulty registering their receipt numbers. seems as though most of us are also not receiving the email alerts that we signed up for as long as you have your receipt numbers.

Ok so we got our RFE letter today.....I sent in my information for the sponser but also sent in my mothers because I knew my income is wayyyy below poverty level. The RFE says that they need the most recent taxes for the joint sponsor.....Would that me my mother? It also states that the joint sponser needs to be a citizen.....SHE IS! Am I supposed to send in her citizen letter or is that just a standard thing they put down?

Yes, the joint sponsor is your mother - if you are the Petitioner. I think the Citizen part is standard wording - I've seen that on a few threads here. You would have to send her passport, birth certificate or something of that nature. Good luck!

Ahh ok well she was born in Cuba and became a citizen later on down the line. She has her citizenship certificate so I may just send a copy of that in. Only thing is the Citizen Cert. has her maiden name....She is now married and with a different name. :(

I am not the petitioner.....My husband is. Well unless my understanding is wrong I think the petitioner would be the person not from the US right?

Okay, so you can send in her Citizenship certificate/copy - and if you can get your hands on her marriage certificate then I'd add a copy of that with it. And yes, your husband is the Petitioner then and you are the Beneficiary. Good luck!

my checks were cashed on 10/31 and we got our NOA's on 11/03. I think it just depends on if the letters get to you first or the checks ge to the bank first.

I would assume that they cash the checks before to send the NOAs, in case there would be a problem when they cash the check, but who knows how USCIS really works...

I think I received the NOA two days after they cashed the check.

So I went to Biometrics this morning - all went well except for the fact that it was raining and it messed up my "look good for the picture" hair!!! I looked like a drowned rat once I got inside, but it was a smooth process and quite interesting. I don't know why I didn't even realize that they scan your fingers...I guess I'm old and expected to come out with ink everywhere! It was interesting to see all the different races in the office and now I'll wait to see if my file gets touched online. Who is up next?
