Hi,

I am quite new to this, i would just like to solicit kind assistance from those who have gone thru CRBA processing.

We have already received the packet for the requirements and we are not sure about sending the documents, as my sweetheart (my baby's father and I are not married yet) may not be able to come home within this year due to the recession in the U.S.

How long does it take upon receipt of the documents before they schedule us for an appointment? is it wiser not to file now and just wait next year where there are no time constraints for us? Please help.

Thank you so much.

I would say file now because it take 6 - 8 months or more to receive the K1 visa, then you have six months to use the visa after you get it, so you will definately be able to wait a year before moving. On the other hand, if you wait a year to file, you may end up having to wait longer than you wanted to.

Actually, we havent filed for K1 vISA yet, we prioritized the CRBA of my baby. Our Daddy wants to be present during the appointment and interview but he can only be here betwe Oct. 23 to Nov. 7? I am afraid to file our application because if we cant make it on the schedule and will ask for reconsideration on a later schedule, then our documents might get lost in the US Embassy because we know they get a lot of papers there. I just need to know how long do they usually give you an appointment after you have submitted the documents. Please help.
