I recently came across (by chance) a list online of all the Vaccines you are required to have to change status once you are married in the US. But being the Internet I have no idea where this was or if it was correct. Does anybody have a definitive list? Or a link to somewhere on here or elsewhere. There seemed to be a hell of a lot so I thought I might start to get the ball rolling early.

Thanks in Advance.

This is the list given out by the US Deprtment of State. Some of these you will most likely already have recieved and some of these will not be required depending on your age.

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_1331.html

I would recommend starting eary - at least one of them requires 3 shots over a 6 month period and depending on where you live it can also be a bit costly. So its better to spead it out over a few months and get it done while you are most likely still home and working.

Good luck ...

I really hate shots ... I always tell my fiance they just have to look at all the shots I had to get to get to be with him for proof that I really love him.

I didn't think that you needed to be finished the entire course of vaccinations before immigrating on a K-1. I thought you just had to be done by the time you file for AOS. My instructions with package 3 actually say that the medical has to be completed except vaccinations.

Can someone clarify?

My understanding is that you don't need vaccinations at all for the K1 but you do need them for AOS in the States. You only need the vaccinations for an immigrant visa, and K1 is technically a non-immigrant visa. It is also my understanding that you only need the first shot of the series to file for AOS but obviously you have to follow up because they will need the other two verified down the road.

Depends on the Consulate/Embassy. I know Canada and the UK require the vaccinations to be completed. (With the exception of the HPV, should that be applicable, however, I believe you only need to have received the first in the series.) Sounds like your Embassy will allow you to defer them. You're best to ask this question in your Regional forum.

I made my medical appointment yesterday for October 16th, and the Doctor said NOT to get my shots until after he's done his exam and told me which I need. I can then come home and get them, and send back my card within a week and they will add it to my medical report. So I think it really depends on the country I think :)

It depends on the consulate. I went to my medical exam yesterday. I was very worried because I couldnt find my vaccination record. Finally I found it, i had all my shots (the ones you have when you're a baby). However, i didnt have the Hepatitis B and influenza so I got the shots. When I went to my medical exam, the nurse told me they only needed the MMR and tetanus. The rest I could keep it.
