The sheep don't care if Biden is stupid. He was hand picked by the master. If it's good enough for Osama, it's good enough for them.

Well to be honest with you - a rather minor factual gaffe (that didn't really detract from what the specifics of what Biden was saying about FDR) is not really the same as fluffing an entire interview, and being unable to answer simple questions about areas of national policy.

Everyone has the odd gaffe at one time or another - Biden is no exception. Some have more (and worse gaffes) than others - in which respect George W Bush would seem to be the winner by a wide margine.

The difference here however, is that (unlike Palin) Biden was able to maintain a train of thought and not choke or rattle off a series of half-baked party political soundbites.

The difference is that Biden is the foreign relations committee chair and has been in congress for fckin 30 years. Geeeez I love how ppl rationalise!

Uhm, and how much does "the war effort" cost per year?

And for how many years has this been going on?

Direct costs, $200 billion a year. We have been going at it for 5 years. This is not funded by the regular budget either, but by selling treasury bonds, which are primarily purchased by other governments like China. Yes we do have to pay them back, plus interest in the future.

Of course, there are all kinds of indirect costs too.

Bosnia? Oh Oh, shite lets forget that huh? BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Arent we still there?

Obama butt nuggets!

No, I don't like you that much.

...and the relevance of this in relation to the interview clip about FDR?

McSame had his fair share of gaffes during the campaign. It happens to all of them.

For Ms. Palin, those aren't gaffes since it is all she's produced thus far.

Wake me up when Ms. Palin constructs one coherent answer to one simple question. Until then, go sniff whatever part of her you're sniffing - or wish to be sniffing. Blockhead!

A gaffe is usually a misplaced word or a bad turn of phrase.

Appearing on TV, appearing entirely clueless in front of a nation of people and demonstrating total ignorance of national policy (not to mention the platform of the campaign she's representing) is something else. To call it a gaffe would be being kind...

I've said as much before. IMO - McCain was a more attractive candidate before he chose Palin. Plenty of other experienced conservatives he could have chosen - yet he picked someone who couldn't argue her way out of a paper bag. And all because he had to sell his soul to get the support of religious conservatives.

So much for his career principles.

A reasonable assessment. However, appointed Cabinet officials actually run the United States Government, on the basis of advice that is generally followed.

One must consider this fact in the overall assessment of the "talking heads" that supposedly run this country.

Perhaps GWB was getting exceptionally bad advice. As well as being a total douche.
