See how easy it can be to save money in Jamaica. Sometimes he was laid off for months. Marcel told me he use to pick breadfruit, sugar cane, mangoes and ackee and sell them on the side of the road. It was something him and his friend did when they got laided off. He tried his best not to mess with his savings. I told him it would take me a while to save up that money. He said you either want to juggle/hustle or you don't. He said he had noone to help him so he had to help himself get ahead.

He is a wise man.

JG and Yardie;

My money tree has fallen apart.

There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore... and who always will.

So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.

Mi hear dat! Mi neva even git no money tree when dem pass dem out. Mi wonda where dem come fram?

Yardie;

The money tree thing has been a joke in my family since the early 80s. Back they all the calls from Jamaica were "COLLECT". My dad's family would call collect sometimes 3 times for the day. Soon as my mom would hear the operator she would hang up. These DAMN cellphones, just made things A LOT easier :angry:

JG -- I think the best one was when one of my cousins called my mom,and 5 of my aunts and told them she just had baby and she need to settle the hospital bill. This was several years ago. The called back 2 weeks later and told them the same thing. Come to find out she was never pregnant. She got NOTHING.

From what I have gathered, I do not think my little SIL was actually pregnant, nor did she have an abortion. I think it was a ploy for the $300 MIL wanted.

The best I have ever had was this guy I met years ago - nothing major, just fun to dance and hang out with, and we talked after I got home. I got a call from his cousin one day that he had been busted for ganja, and the cousin needed $300 to pay it off before he got printed. I hung up from the cousin and called his cell - which he answered. Apparently, his cousin hadn't bothered to give him the heads up that he was going to try to run the scam on me at that particular time!
