Roxcie, unfortunately I think they are USD - if they were JA I would be opening a hotel!

Honey, Americans can't legally go to Cuba - we are banned.

Why are the tickets on AJ $1152 for Christmas

AJ was crazy when I was looking - I had a flight credit on American, so I already knew that was what I was flying, like it or not - the price had gone down a bit so I jumped to buy - after my credits, it only cost me $164 outta pocket!

It can be done - but we aren't supposed to =

If you are under US jurisdiction, regardless of your passport, there is the potential to get in trouble, by traveling to Cuba. If you choose to go you have the choice of obfuscating your travel (and committing perjury) and possibly (statistically probably) not being detected. In this case, following your dreams gets down to whether you are a risk-taker or risk averse.

Here is the gist of the situation on travel to Cuba:

It is "legal" for people under US jurisdiction to go to Cuba. BUT:

* It is illegal for people under US jurisdiction to have transactions (spend money or receive gifts) in Cuba under MOST circumstances.

* It is legal for American to have transactions (spend money or receive gifts) in Cuba if they have a "license", but

* The government is arbitrary about how it interprets its rule and who it issues licenses to. .

So, you can go, but it is technically illegally to spend money down there and you could be subject to prosecution on return - if you don't spend money, how do you go?

This is my understanding about Cuba, Sus is correct, we as Americans cannot obtain a visa to travel to Cuba, but if we go by an in-direct way, Cuba will allow you in. They will stamp your passport on entry, then when you are leaving, they will tear that stamp page out as if you never set foot on their soil. Since Brits are not banned from being in Cuba, you just tell them you are British if asked.

I would love to travel to Cuba, to look at some of their art work there. That may be a reason why I might try to obtain my JA residence.

I'm just messing with ya'll about the house. You know I'd rather be living in Jamaica, but that's not the plan for now. I would love to just wake up everyday and not have much to worry about. I would love to walk outside, pick some oranges and come inside and make fresh orange juice, it would be so nice to just walk outside and pick all the veggies or seasonings I need to make dinner tonight ohhhhh how I would love that. I would love that ever time I need a snack I could just walk out my back door and pick a mango or neasberry or guinep to satisfy me. I would love to sit on the beach from 11am to 2pm and let the water wash up to me feet over and over again...bway how I miss the smell of crisp, clean country air and touch of sunlight piercing my skin.

Ya'll know I'm home sick.

Okay, Lawny, that's why I couldn't understand when everyone kept saying fly AJ, I could never find a price for them under $500 dollars.

I've flown other airlines, I just hate connecting flights with my son I would never pay $500 for any ticket unless it was necessary. It's just not in my budget. I'm looking for flights for some people who will drive down Phili for a wedding then they're leaving with the couple for their honeymoon in Jamaica (don't ask).

We are moving to Nicarauga (sp?) and buying this awsome beach cabana/hotel property we saw on one of those international house hunting shows.

My boss just said that the other day while he was bawling bout the stock market falling. He loves to go there. Talks about buying a house there and opening a business.

Sorry TL, I had to laugh at you  I could have told you that. Most of the houses they're buiding in Jamaica look like US homes 2 levels or more 2 to 3 car garages. The house my aunt built in St. Mary looks ridiculous, it does'nt fit the area. People think it's a hospital or some health facility.
