yes, and all day tomorrow.

Tomorrow is going to be one rass long day for you Chica. :crying:

My MIL just called me and asked if I could bring her some butter and cooking oil when I come down in NOV. Now I am aware that food cost more in JA, than here in the USA, but does it cost somemuch more that I need to be sneaking butter into JA. I would rather go to the Super Plus and buy it, if we are only talking about a couple of dollars more.

With these new rules being put onto your luggages for traveling, such as paying for it, I would like to save my luggage for clothes and shoes. I'm going to call the Super Plus store and see how much Butter cost.

Rox, I'm sure she has no clue about the rules nor the cost difference. They just think everything is cheaper here.

JG --

If I was near you I would pinch you.

Hee hee. Andre said it may be worth more since they don't make them anymore.

Good morning everyone, Clairen, I thank you for your fair assessment of the events from last night. I probably typed 6-7 different responses that I wanted to send to Shawn, but I decided that I would not respond to ignorance comments with ignorance responds.

Also, my husband, bless his soul, told me to let those "who does not know, to continue not know" the less said is better.

What I have learned from being a business woman is, every battle is not mine 's to fight, only fight those that give me some value.

Therefore, I will continue to do what I do best, and that is to find ways to educate those who would like to make a difference in their economic situations. I work with a recruiting company that recruits on an average 200 seasonal workers a year from Jamaica for jobs in the US. So, I do know personally, issues that are plaguing Jamaica in the job market.

Roxie, it is my belief that posts like those from last night are only made to rile people up. I've been there and I know sometimes you can't help yourself. Believe me when I say, I cannot hold my tongue most times, so I know how you feel.

If you ignore them, they will eventually fade away since it's not fun if we don't respond to them.

Mi notice seh from the other day yu a gwaan like yu naymn(eat) someting wid fire.........yu a di bull buck and duppy conquerer round here...but guess what? mi nuh fraid a yu! Suh go back inna yu shell.

How you supposed to bring butter from here to JA? It'll melt! haha, I would just buy her some when you get there. Dont risk all that oil spilling all over your luggage.

Lita;

Usually the tub butter. It won't melt if it's been frozen for a while, I use to freeze it for a week. Heck, I've brought up frozen uncooked fished from Jamaica in my suitcase back in the day. When we got to back to Maryland the ice was still on. I guess it would be, it's been in the deep freeze for 3 weeks.

If they allow you to bring liquor, why would it be any different than cooking oil?

Roxie, I don't know. I just know that I've had a friends and family members that have place cooking oil in their suitcases don't have it in their when they reach mobay. I have to check with my cousin. They did put a note in her suitcase explaining what is allowed in checked luggage.

Marie,

I don't know why either. Last May I was taken out of line and brought to a separate room by immigration when I got to Montego Bay to be questioned about the frequency of my trips. I just answered what they asked and asked them if they were done. They had to go through the same bull when I flew back to Baltimore. I know I'm straight, so I don't let them get to me. It does wear you thin after a while.

Stop looking so "shifty"!

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

No, I'm taking cookies, taco kit, latte, and a few other things. Can I take oregano(sp) or do you think they'll think it's ganga. I looked for it in Jamaica and couldn't find when I made spaghetti.

Sunny, I'm eating at your place every night!
