But to answer the question for the I-130 for a child. when Mike's dad filed for him he included all his kids on the same application and when the case was approved they did not get different case numbers. At the NVc stage they have to file separate DS-230 and pay the visa application fee and the whole case is continued as one with separate visa application and fees.

Hope I was clear in my explanation.

Remeber though if US citizen file for wife/husband....child needs a seperate petition.......You can file for child if you are the biological parent, adption or step parent married before the child 18th birthday.
