Quick update. I'm in the US and POE was a breeze. From the plane to the outside (bags collected) was approx 25 minutes. It's never been that short for me in regular travel!

I posted a POE review with details. I'm happy to be here and can't wait to see hubby this weekend! Night night to you all and thanks for the constant support.

Jax..does J have CP?

No I don't think so. She is rolling over lots. She has weak muscles in her legs and not standing right when we hold her up.

What all testing have they done on your baby?

Jay has only been diagnosed by our doctor. She is going to be evaluted by family and child services in town. If she has what the doctor says then she will get all services for free and at our house. What are the signs of CP?

Well from what I can tell CP is a general term they use to explain any kind of brain damage done due to lack of oxygen during birth or a short time after birth. Cerebral Palsy can cause seizures, blindness, muscle tightness, hearing problems etc. With children it is very hard to tell if it is not a severe case. It is best to find out early because the earlier a child starts to receive services the better their outcomes are. Your daughter sits up right? She can stand? Sometimes the spasticity can be relieved with medicine like baclofin. I met a lady whose daughter was not diagnosed until around 4 years old. That is kind of late to be diagnosed but her daugher is like 9 now and goes to regular school. Her problems are mostly in getting around she drags a leg but she is really smart. Usually they will do a MRI and EEG to detect CP and also have a Physical Therapist evaluate the spasticity.(muscle tightness) Probably a good idea to have a neurologist evaluate her also. They deal with the brain and the spasticity issues. It is important to stretch the muscles that have tightness or else the child can lose the use of that muscle after awhile. I will be praying that everything turns out well and that you get all the help you need. If she hasn't been to a neurologist I would take her to one. All they can tell you is she doesn't' need one. Better safe than sorry.
