Yardies, at home and a farrin (part 8)

Talk about those darn dentist and those ridiculous prices - everytime I go for my 6 month cleaning the dental assistant continues to tell me that I need to have my wisdom teeth pulled. Now mind you - they are not hurting (not at this time) - the dental assistant and dentist says they are "useless" teeth and my mouth is small and that's why my other teeth have shifted.

So on my last cleaning the discussion came up again about having them removed - I told the dentist if its free I will let him pull all four. He didn't say anything else. Makes me think he's trying to reach some "wisdom teeth" quota.

Wisdom teeth quota You are probably right though. They try and talk you into any and everything. If it ain't broke there isn't anything to fix

I haven't had my wisdom teeth out yet either and I don't plan to ever have them out. Not after what I have seen from many people getting theirs out.

Mine came out so easily, I didn't even know he was done till he told me he was done. And, one shot across the room. I took 2 pain pills and then I ate some lunch and gave the rest of the pills to my dad.

It didn't go very well. They say that they could do this surgery thing for $950 (insurance doesn't cover any of it) to try to save the tooth and put on a crown but there is no guarantee it will work and based on everything it will most likely fail in the next couple months or years. Just no way of knowing. Or they can take out the tooth and call it a loss. So that is what I decided - just have them take it out. I don't have $950 to spend on something that is going to fail down the road anyways. So I go in on Tuesday (election day) and they will take out the tooth and do some sort of clean out thing to the roots cause there is infection and leave it at that. Can you believe the oral surgeon wouldn't just take the tooth out yesterday?! "sorry but we only do root canal procedures not extractions" - so back to the other dentist I go This whole thing is ridiculous. I can opt to get an implant down the line if I want but those are mass expensive as well Luckily it is way in the back so it won't be anything visible. I can't wait for this all to be over. If I didn't like going to the dentist before I sure hate it now.

Girl, I am sorry to hear this but you should get an implant because your other teeth are going to space out trying to fill up the spce that is there. I hoep you can get some solace out of all this

shrewdy i was told by jgay80 that you were the one that gave her the idea to check with nvc. i was thanking her because if i didn't see that she got an interview date i wouldn't have called nvc and found out about my date as well. good looking out girl.
