Honey, K1 6 mos

CR1- 15 mos.

K3- 9 mos

Hey Rox...is this still true? I thought that the longer wait period for the CR-1 was mainly because of the tremendous influx of petitions that the service centers received last summer right before the rate increases. It seems that there have been alot of petitions approved in a much shorter time frame than that, that filed earlier this year. It seems to me that the average wait time for the CR-1 was 10-12 months (and could be shorter depending on how fast you can get through NVC), and the K3 I heard was actually about the same. Now as for the K1, not quite sure, but 6-8 months seems to be the average. But then again, it could all be the luck of the draw

Honey and Mrs. P, after Friday nite, we three will be the only loney heart club left. Everyone else is waiting to file sometime in the future.

Yeah, but at least you've started. I just want to send the stuff off already! The worst part is the anticipation!

Mrs. Palmer, I would recommend that you send in both the 130 for the CR1 and the 129 for the K3. You can abandon the K3 at anytime if you feel the CR1 is moving along swiftly. Also trhere is no cost to filing the 129 for the K3.

On the USIC website for Vermont it says 6 mos for the K3 and they are working on 130 with a NOA of 02/2008. So, it still looks to be an average of 12 to 1 mos for the CR1.

Honey, the K1 is for non-marriage folks and the K3 is for those who are already married.

Honey, with regards to the k3/cr-1 debate...if you check out the other forums, alot of the k3 filers have been waiting just as long as some of the cr-1 holders, so in that respect, its my personal opinion that could be a toss up==but clearly I have no definite answers. What I do know is that the k3 is more expensive, that when the SO comes in to the US they still are not able to work until they receive their SSN, EAD, and whatever else, and they still have to Adjust status. With the CR 1, none of that applies. Once the SO enters the country, they can begin work immediately. Plus I know there was talk earlier that maybe they were going to phase out the k3, but nobody knows when.

either way it goes, for me I have to time it so that my husband does not have his interview date until Oct 1

Okay Mrs. P, these are the know facts:

Visa CR1 vs K3

CR1 enters with a 2 year cond, but they have a green card and EAD when they arrive-

K3 enters with a 2 year cond green card, but no EAD when they arrive

Now they both after the two years must file for removal of condidtions.

My case.

CR1 enters w/ GC and EAD, but Joel alreadys has a SS card.

K3 enters w/ GC no EAD, but Joel already has SS#

Want to wait to file for removal of conditions right after he arrives, because we would have been married two years by 2010, want to get 10 CG and try for citizenship.

So, my intial cost will only be for the EAD and AP card. I will have to apply for removal of conditions in both situations.

Any of you MD gals hook up with Sus over the weekend? I think this was the weekend she was going. She has been quiet for a few days.

We'll be here for ya Sunny! I'm sure you'll have your blackberry while you are sitting in the airport waiting. Are you going alone or is someone going with you?

I think alone, but I my take my big sis with me in case I get emotional. I'll have the BB with me.

That would be nice - just what Wakey did. ;)

I thought Sjb and I were yeterday, but we never heard from her. Hope she's ok.

I hope so too. I texted her and didn't hear anything.

I know. I can't take and I REFUSE any meds. My first pregnancy was TRIPLETS. Twin and triplets run heavy in my family. I'll leave it to time. I know I'm under alot of stress and that may have a lot to do with it.

yes stress can cause you to not ovulate, or ovulate later or earlier and then you have no idea when to make the baby. Docs try to prescribe Clomid to alot of women and that actually makes them "dry up" so the sperm have a harder time swimming in there. lawd i need to be a fertilty specialist with all the stuff i done learned. I was on this mad fertilty knowledge kick for awhile but it taught me alot.

That's what the doctor prescribed for me before I went to Jamaica, but I never got the prescription filled. My cycle shows up when it wants. then she said she may have to put me on Medformin if I want to try to get pregnant. Ugh! Diabetics take that.

 Never heard about medformin. Does that make you fertile?

Congrats Lawny and Marcel
