Myspace can be great and has many wonderful features but just like with everything else out there in the world some people spoil the pot and ruin it for others by soliciting sex, all sorts of nude pics, spam, hacking, getting people's personal info etc etc etc. Myspace/Facebook aren't the only sites out there...they all have their ups and downs and it is all about how you use them and how you protect yourself.

Do you know how easy it is to hack into someone's private myspace account? Easy if you have the slightest bit of hack knowledge and there are a bunch of "bad" people who are out there and do it for the sh!ts and giggles. Steal pics and info and all sorts of stuff. All in all...it is what you make it...just be safe and smart.

i had a myspace account and loved it.. i hooked up w/ alot of people from elementary and middle school.. Like someone said it was GREAT to see the adults people had grown into, their children, etc.

I am also a very phone challenged person.. I am horrible at keeping in contact w/ friends and family and email and text just seems easier for me. Myspace met that need. I could pop in and check on people and vice versa.

You are right to mention the foolishness that goes on, but u can make ur account private in order to police who comes on and off ur page, I, however liked keeping my page open, but fortunately I never had a mess happen to me..

So you really use your real name to start a page, and your friends find you by typing in your name? How do know to add someone as a friend? What if that person doesn't have a Myspace page?

I personally don't remember half of the people I went to school with...and if we didn't stay in touch...I'm not really interested in picking up where we left off. LMAO...I am very anti-social and very much a loner. I can count on two hands the people I keep in touch with on a REGULAR basis.

same here jawi w/ the anti social.. even my good friends don't hear from me that much, but they love and understand me nevertheless..

most of the time we find each other w/ a search.. When u start up, u fill out info about urself so u can search using any criteria, city, school, graduating year etc.. u can look up by name, but like u say most of the time nobody uses their real name..

I remember one girl i went to school with was a biker girl.. she had a pic w/ her motorcycle and leather outfit.. she was soooo quiet in school so I was like "WOW". If I was a little more sociable, maybe I would have went to one of her bike parties, but for me a "hey, wus up" every now and then is enough LOL
