I use myspace more than facebook, and for me, it was mainly a way to keep up with folks from grade school and high school days. Many people that I went to school with have found me this way, and vice versa. For me, it's cool to see what people have been up to on their journeys through life and so on.

I use classmates.com for that purpose.

Yeah, but isn't there a fee associated with that? Like some kind of premium membership to get the good info that you want? With myspace it's free...

Too many freaks out there for me. I can't stand all that nonsense that goes on, on that site. I prefer those who are specifically looking for me. Going through my schools is the best way I have found. The fee is minimal.

While VJ is my addiction, I have a myspace account which I use mostly to keep up with my family as we are all over the daymn place. It's easier than e-mailing everyone pics of the kids. It's cool.

Yeah that would be a nice feature...but you have a relationship with them outside and beyond facebook/myspace. That is the thing that always confused me. Who cares what people YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW think about you or your pictures or whatnot?! It definitely can be a good tool/resource but so many people use it for so much more that it becomes a popularity thing.

Anyone remember that teen that hung herself cause of the teasing and stuff she received on myspace. That was definitely people taking it too far. People get so wrapped into these things they don't even recognize reality anymore. Very sad.

The only plus side of myspace/facebook type sites is that you can reconnect with people that you lose contact with or whatnot but people use it for so many more crazy things. To reconnect is awesome but if they are that important build a relationship with them outside of a website. If my memory serves me right on my myspace page I wrote - please email me at such and such an email address cause I know I won't be on there to be checking messages and all that crazy stuff.

That's what I think.

I get saddened when I see the lengths people will go through for attention on there. The pictures some post are just wrong.

I see people talking about stars pages on Myspace and how they determine if they are still dating so and so by whether so and so is still listed in their friends list. LIKE SO FREAKIN WHAT??? Is that all there is to it? If so, I will NEVER be a member.

I liked myspace for finding old friends from high school and jr high, Its great for that. Best site to plan a reunion off of.

Yeah, and what was sad about that is that she was actually being teased and harassed by an adult--a grown azz woman! So sad. I was just watching a program on cyber bullying. But it's not just limited to myspace...with all this new technology with cell phones, it's happening a lot that way too with text messaging, video messages, etc.

Kimmy I can do you one better. How about I got the airport, checked in, went through security, and went to pull $$ from the ATM for my trip only to find that my wallet was at HOME. I was stuck in Jamaica at the Internet Cafe trying to Western Union $$ to myself. Pitiful! Luckily my cabbies accepted checks for the airport transfer ride.

LOL!! That was my fear this last trip - I swear I checked 3 times to make sure I had my debit card with me.

I lost my wallet in JA once. On Dancehall night at the Sumfest. Someone had a great time. Luckily, I cancelled my credit cards before someone could use them. And our hotel made a copy of my driver's license when i checked it. Air Jamaica accepted it with no problems.

I would have been sick. At least, my wallet was safe on my dresser at home in the US...2 hours and 35 minutes...make that 4 hours and 47 minutes away from me in Ochi (had to add the car ride)

I stayed at Skycastles once and they charged my card twice for a 15 night stay (room cost $80 per night). The lady at the front desk wanted to catch an attitude because I wanted my $$ back talking about she wasn't trying to tief my $$. She gave me back $300 in cash and thought I would be satisfied. When my bank finished with them, they had to pay back NSF fees as well as the rest of my $$. I almost ended up getting the room free.

My sister has a MYSPACE page...cause she fly..she designs clothes..i mean serious fabulous stuff...she's good..sh ehas gotten alot of design jobs on there..and the money they pay her i asked her if they really pay that much..hell cause i would't

Of course. That happened no far from where we live.

I think the scariest moment for me was this 48 hours special or something of that sort that had a cop prowling myspace. He was talking to young girls who thought they were being savvy by not giving out personal info. They talked about school activities, community things, their sports teams, etc. He researched and put everything together and ended up at their doors to tell their parents how easy it was to track them down and how they need to be much more careful. It was so scary.

Ahhh yes. Then there is the whole job/networking side of things. It is a great place to advertise whatever you may be trying to sell.
