Trust me...those airline people must eat some wonderful food with all the stuff they confiscate.

They CLAIM that it's burned...to prevent fruit flies.

Please note you should not bring fruit or vegatable from one country to another country, if they see it on the scanner, they will take it. We can go round and round about whether to tell or not to tell, but if they find it on the scanner there is a 90% chance they will take it.

The bottom line it will be his call.

What?! :help: Like we dont have fruit flies here too! The flies come from the parasite in the food. That cant be prevented. I hope they dont take his stuff. I brought bak pear last time. Its in my fridge waiting for him.

Ok yall, I am SICK TO MY STOMACH!! His plane has left and I never heard from him!! I am gonna vomit right now! Why didnt he call me?

They always scan mine and NEVER take it. I bring all kinds of fruit and veggie. I guess its the luck of the draw. I've had otheite apple, star apple, orange, tangerine, pear, ackee, and always in my carryon and nobody say nothing. I told him to declare his stuff though. Dont want him gettin arrested the moment he gets here. :wacko:

hmm afta mi did affi struggle wid the breadfruit suitcase..mi no tell nobody mi ave breadfruit again...how much a oonuh come tru JFK..no hassels

These are the things I've seen them taken from people,

Unpelled (sp) sugar cane, unroasted breadfruit, mangoes, pears, green pepper, unshelled ackee, yams, neasberries, guenip, starapples, june plums, uncooked (raw) fish), PORK (cooked), seeds, plants, overproofed rum

Oh Lita - I don't know why he didn't call you but I am sure all is well. Can you/did you call the airline to see if he got on the flight? I would think if he DIDN'T make the flight he would have called you since he would still be in JA. So he is probably on the plane now and will call you when he lands. Deep breaths...deep breaths...

Why in the world would they take the rum? Is there a limit you can bring into the US? That's the only reason I can think of.
