Hey guys!

I hope everyone is having a good monday morning. blech!

I am so stressed about all this mess! I got that RFE on my DS230 and then my mom sent me an email today that I got something else from NVC in the mail. Im super stressed because I have no clue what it could be unless its another RFE..but wouldnt they have sent that with the other one?

I talked to NVC this morning and they didnt mention anything??

:crying:

Pray for me! I cant do this much longer. I am so so so stressed!

Deep breath in...now out Shrewie....I feel for you. How about asking Mom to open the envelope and tell you what's there? Maybe it is just another copy of the RFE.

she is at work now. i thought about that, haha

why would i get two copies of the same one?

I LOVE MY HUSBAND!!!!!!!!!!!

Do anyone know how to make a Jamaican fruit cake with rum? We found a Jamaican restuarant not far from our house which sells cornmeal pudding ($2/slice) and fruit cake ($5/slice), that's expensive.

Thanks, Damien said it isn't but I told him it is. Do you start making it now for the holiday? Do you know how to make it?

Morning ladies! I worked on-call over the weekend, so I'm off today. I'm actually going to head over to the polls today and vote early. Mi cyaan wait in line forever on Nov 4 :no: How is everyones work day so far? I was just reading where they have found a young black boy's body in a white SUV who's tags match the SUV they were looking for in the Jennifer Hudson case. While I pray that it is not her nephew, I have a sad feeling that it is. This world is so scary.

Girl, that's a special art and not everyone can make it. I gave up on trying to make it 6 years ago. I never turns out right. My aunt says the art of it is know how long to soak the fruits in rum and how much rum to use. When I would watch my mom and grandmother make it they never measured anything  Sometimes the black cake they serve in the state don't look like the ones from back home. And you have the add the right amount of rum...too much rum will dry out the cake and make it taste bitter.

My aunt mails us a cake every year from Florida and my other aunt brings them from New York. I love cornmeal pudding (the one the call blue draws)...OMG so good.

Thanks. I'll see how much they will charge for a whole one. Why is cornmeal pudding called blue draws  Maybe I can make that one. He's been talking about them ever since last week.

Are you going to be out of town on election day?

No, I', going to be in town on election day...but there have been news stories all over the state about the length of the poll lines NOW, so I can only imagine how long the waits are going to be on the actual election day. I wasn't blessed with alot of patience, so I figured I would go ahead and get it done, and not have to take too much time off of work.

I dont like fruit cake either, but I do want to try and incorporate some traditional Jamaican item into the holiday menu, so I think Im going to try and make sorrel. It's funny because I told my husband that I was going to work really hard to try and learn how to cook some Jamaican dishes. He's a really good cook, so I've pretty much been spoiled. He told me I should get a cookbook, I told him I was just going to try and copy what he does. Im also going to check out a lot of the dishes that you guys post here....
