okay next question, though i vaguely remember this being discussed awhile ago what do we think about the purchasing of rings if our SO's arent well off???

i told D i was going to look for a ring and put it in layaway, but given he can save for phones that he wants i think he should pick something and start saving on it until april rolls around? yall think it is possible for someone who makes 400 a month to afford a ring?

Depends on what kind of ring you want. There are a lot options in this regards. I have thought of getting his birthstone or there are even diamonds that are created in a lab and aren't as expensive. Oh and I have seen on Ebay where you can bid for some really nice ones.

I got my engagement ring in Jamaica, duty free. It is gorgeous and I get more compliments on it. It's 9 tiny diamonds set to look like a solitaire. Makes it sparkle so much. It really wasnt' all that much.

And, yes, Andre actually paid for all of it. It is possible.

I am wearing my mom's ring. She got a nice new fancy one for her 25th and offered her old one to me or I could of taken my great Aunt's ring. Hubby will purchase mine when he is done with school. He just has a plain band. Which was not much money at all. We had thought about getting a cheap one at JC Penny's and hubby paying. Then mom suggested her and I felt that was perfect.

Jomo that is great that Andre could pay for a ring . It sounds beautiful.

My wedding ring is beautiful too. Silver with diamonds along the band. My best friend gave it to me. It was hers at one time.

shrewdie i have never been married and dont have a clue where to start, hell when i was gonna marry my ex a week after i said yes i found out he had a baby on the way so of course i tossed the bridal magazines....LOL..

i want barefeet, by all involved, manicures and pedis are a must....LOL.... orange is my fav color so something like the sunset on guest in various shades and me and dwayne in white, calla lillies maybe in front of water but that is far as i can think, dont know if i should have someone say something do we just meet up and give our commitment to one another, should i have a soul train line,,,, just kidding, just kinda clueless, didnt think this day would ever happen for me, so i never gave it much thought

oh- I had a friend that had a wedding a lot like that (minus the water) and it was BEAUTIFUL!!!

maybe have the ceremony at sunset time ....have it by the water.... have lanterns/candles around.. have some burnt orange accessories (dresses, whatever).... your white dress and dwayne's white ensemble......have some calla lilies around...

you can make it whatever you want!!!!!!

Then look at what local flowers you can you, cost alot less. Look at airfare prices and gaged what airfare might cost during that season, if it spring break for colleges, then airfare will be higher.

I didn't eat at Oceans. All I had was 2 rum and cokes. lol I just went to dinner with my mom and had to fly through red lights to get home. Why did I do that to myself. Ugh! I don't have fever or anything, just Abdominal pain and the big "D".

I've got all that plus fever and chills. My head is pounding right now.

very true roxcie... i went in april one time before dont really remember how much i spent, but with the added cost of taking my sons... i could easily see spending 1200 on airfare alone.

i guess i will put him to work now and see what location we can have, does ochi have any lighthouses or old churches near the water that anyone knows of??? OH the falls at the ruins is really pretty, though really pricey

I was very conscious of it in Ochi. We were having lunch at Mama Marley's and I kept asking A "I don't look like that do I, I mean fit in here better than these people, don't I??" He just raised he eyebrow at me - LOL.

I gave my camera to my 10 year old nephew and let him have at it. One I deleted the 200 he took of his feet, I had some amazing pictures. That kid is a natural photographer.

Otherwise, I could care less if I look like a tourist or not. Life is short and sometimes memories are all that is left at the end. I am passing on as many as I can to my kids and future generations via my scrapbooks.

i think im gonna start buying stuff now, so when it is time, i will have everything i need and actually i can cart some stuff down in april and leave it with D, so less to carry when time comes. wonder if he can get at least 2 days off work, his job is a trip

SO i have like a million photos saved on my computer which i normally print on 8 by 10 photo paper and send to dwayne, this time around im sure i will go thru a whole ink cartridge if i do it that way, is there a way to print more than one photo at a time on photo paper, like they do kids school pictures so i can kill two birds with one stone, ?? im not real saavy at tech stuff with the computer

there is depending on your printer/photo software

check under printer options..or maybe print paper...

Mornin All....

Just poppin in, trying to catch up on posts. LOL I just got back from visiting my sis in NY last night.

We got the letter for Dave's Biometrics Appt. It's on Nov 1st @ 1:00pm. Does that mean we're in the "clear" for getting an RFE or is that still a possibility after Biometrics?? I feel pretty good about all the documentation we sent in but just wondering what'll happen from here etc.

Have everything planned so that when you go down in January while Dwayne is at work you can run around and get things in order for April. Go to the florist, bakery and other stores for accessories.
