Sorry to hear you had to go back to work, Kimmy - I can imagine how hard that must be! It doesn't seem like you have been out long enough - feels like she was just born!

On the subject of Lush - I gave in and ordered online - Oh, I am in love!!

It's like crack. What did you get?

There isn't one near you?

Even after I don't work there and get my discount, I will be a loyal customer.

I bought a bath bar (can't remember the name, the order says Ma Bar (love it!)- Squeaky Green and Hybrid Shampoo (love it), Jungle conditioner (love it), and Tao deodorant -- haven't tried it yet.

Why can't she get onto VJ? When is her interview?

Her work has it blocked - can you believe? LOL - I think the interview is the 12th or the 19th-

Sunnyja, congratulations to you and Ray. Many blessing and continue to enjoy each other.

Be Bless

Roxcie

Thanks Roxcie.... How hae you been? It's almost your time to leave for JA now...

Thanks Wakey and Sus... I'm getting ready to book Ray's ticket to come next Friday, but still trying to figure out if I'm going to send him through New York or straight to Baltimore.

Does he have a possible job lined up when he arrives? I would let that and cost guide the port of entry. Don't you live up north. Can you drive a short distance to pick him up at JFK?

It's only a 4hr drive from Maryland, so I think I'll do it just to have it if he does want to work right away. There will be jobs I hope since the holidays are right around the corner. The other thing is taxes. He'll have to file his taxes if he's works in 2008. I don't know?????

So this weekend we found out that Dwayne can get a license or ga state ID only until his I-94 expiration date which is on 10/28. He is so disappointed. Has been studing for the exam and then to be told he can get one that is good for 8 days.

This is the stuff that makes me wish we'd married and waited 2 years for all the greencard ####### to be over. The red tape at different governmental agencies blows!!

It looks like the adjustment process is taking forever too. Oh well, this is the time to stay prayed up.

Oh thanks for listening

Wakey

Yep. In Missouri, once you marry, they make you wait till the GC to get it at all.

We are about to go to the DMV friday and renew Andre's driver's license. It was only valid till his GC expired, which is November 1st. We have to take the NOA from the LOC up there and try and renew it for another year. Then, we have to go back up there next year when he holds his 10 year GC and, hopefully, get a full 6 year DL. It really never does end.

I know what you are feeling well. Just hang in there. It all happens soon enough.

My 2 cents - send him through JFK, since you are so close, so that he at least has the option of getting a job. Even if you plan to marry right away there still is the delay time in getting the EAD.

The option; but even that is not foolproof. He can technically only work the 90 days it's good for and then still has to wait for his EAD or GC, whichever comes first.

I would go for JFK. If I had been 4 hours away MAN.

Intimacy, like charity, begins at home. If we cannot be intimate with ourselves, we have no way to bring to intimacy with another person.

Intimacy with ourselves takes time. We need time for rest, time for walks, time for quiet, and time to tune into to ourselves. We cannot completely fill up our lives with activities and become intimate with ourselves. Nor can we just sit quietly indefinitely and become intimate with ourselves. We have to have the time and energy to be our lives and to do our live in order to establish and intimate relationship with ourselves.

Surprisingly, as we become intimate with ourselves, we discover our connection with others

I feel you on how the illegal immigrants have their ID. There is a group of them that wait for labor work on my drive to work. I'm thinking of going up to them to see what they did.:crying:

Good luck trying to get an answer - they will think you are from ICE ready to deport them!!

That is the sad thing though - you bust your hump to do it straight and legal and you take the thumps the whole way. Keep your chin up, Wakey.

I didn't think of that. Did you ever see the movie with Jim Carrey i think it was "See ####### and Jane" that reminds me of that..I don't want to scare anyone.

I love that movie. That is the movie that was playing on the plane when Andre and I were coming to the US. I fell asleep. He had on the headphones. I woke up and he's yelling, It's a good movie. I was like SSSssshhhhhh. Everyone was laughing at him.

Yep great point JG! Unless you all are plannig to marry right away the 90 days can go towards the wait time for EAD. It sort of like throwing mud on the wall to see what sticks. No way to be certain how it will come out

Uncle Sam is right there to shake your hand to welcome you to the USA while holding his other hand out. Gonna have to do it sometime...

I ponder whether the transistion is easier if they can get a job right away. Jamaicans are used to alot of socialization and parties. Not quite the same here. I know if it was me I would go absolutely crazy if I was home day in and day out, especially without kids to keep you occupied.

OMG.....Ma Bar is the bomb, isn't it? There is a Santa bath bomb coming that will be just like it. Mmmmmmmm.....

Jungle is the love of my life. I put it in a spray bottle with some water, let it melt, and then spray it on my hair every day as a leave in. I swear to you, I have men follow me around telling me how good I smell. I have traced it back to the Jungle.

I can't use the shampoo bars. I'm "The Blonde" kinda girl. Travelling with those shampoo bars is awesome. You can use them on your hair and body. No more dripping messes in the luggage.

That's true - but that's kind of how life is, right? Nothing is certain - but taxes and death!

Oops - forgot to add that the closest Lush to me is in the Casino - somewhere I am trying to avoid! They had an $8 shipping special online -

Last year, after Christmas and through February, they had buy one get 2 free on soap, bubble bars, bath bombs, and wrapped presents, except for the hat boxes. Everything else was buy one get one free. They dont' do the same promotion every single year, so not sure what it will be this time. But, something to keep in mind.

Oh, yah, that was my other point.....once we married, they said it was then invalid. It kind of sucks all the stupid rules.

JG, I think you should quit working in the store and move up the ladder to become the spokeperson for Lush. I'll watch/listen for you on tv and radio! I refuse to try it because I KNOW I will get hooked - and my budget can't afford that right now.
