I tried to explain Halloween to Marcel and all he says is "WHY". I didn't say anything else. I wasn't allowed to do anything on Halloween, so it's not a big deal to me. I do take boxing day off though, been doing since 1989, when I started working full time. I also take Easter Monday.

We were never allowed to do anything for Halloween either. It was, if anything, a night spent at church. That's wonderful that you can take Boxing Day and Easter Monday. A works for a Christian company so he gets Good Friday. I usually take that as well so we can celebrate together.

Pumpkin Trifle:

* 2 (14-ounce) packages gingerbread mix

* 1 (5.1-ounce) box cook-and-serve vanilla pudding mix

* 1 (30-ounce) can pumpkin pie filling

* 1/2 cup packed brown sugar

* 1/3 teaspoon ground cardamom or cinnamon

* 1 (12-ounce) container frozen whipped topping

* 1/2 cup gingersnaps, optional

Directions

Bake the gingerbread according to the package directions; cool completely. Meanwhile, prepare the pudding and set aside to cool. Stir the pumpkin pie filling, sugar, and cardamom into the pudding. Crumble 1 batch of gingerbread into the bottom of a large, pretty bowl. Pour 1/2 of the pudding mixture over the gingerbread, then add a layer of whipped topping. Repeat with the remaining gingerbread, pudding, and whipped topping. Sprinkle of the top with crushed gingersnaps, if desired. Refrigerate overnight. Trifle can be layered in a punch bowl.

I was just on the Black Friday site yesterday. I can't wait either. I need a new TV for my bedroom. Last year I was 10th in the line at Target. I had a chance to get one and didn't. I could slap myself. This Jamaican guy had a whole cart full of $25 DVD players. I need a GPS to.

I was in Jamaica last year on Black Friday...the airport was empty. I did'nt have anyone sitting next to me on the plane so I just spread out.

Yardie..this year i'm tryna get a nintendo wii, laptop, gps, hard drive camcorder and lcd tv. A lotta the time I buy more than one of what I get and try to make a little profit on ebay

How smart is that! A and I are discussing not doing any gifts for each other this year and just buying one bigger thing for the both of us. Not sure what yet Re: the Nintendo Wii...do you think they will go on sale?

last year i kind of spoiled the fun, normally i would wait until thanksgiving day and get up and go to 7 11 at the crack of dawn, literally like 3 or 4 am, and buy a paper, it is tradition and then i would go back home to sleep until 7 and then get up and start cooking. and look thru the paper at the things im gonna buy, well last year someone hipped me to the B F website and im online looking like 3 days in advance mapping out my strategy.

I made a pumpkin gingerbread trifle one Thanksgiving - it was so so so good - It was a recipe from Paula Dean

Oh, can you give this recipe to me?

I make a wicked trifle:

pound cake cut in cubes (I use 2 pound cakes)

sliced strawberries

sliced bananas

can of crushed pineapple in juice

2 tubs of whip cream

2 boxes of dry vanilla pudding

Layer everything exactly as I have listed it, using 1/3 each layer. Only difference, Use 1/2 of the dry pudding mix on the first 2 layers ONLY. So, you end with whip cream on top.

If you put it in a big clear bowl, it is beautiful. Tastes awesome.

If you use the low fat pound cake, fat free whip cream, and sugar free pudding mix, you can save some calories.

No quoting is fine and usually my goal. But, sometimes I want to make sure it's known what I am referring to.

Heyyyyyyyyyy, where did you get that recipe. That's the Dessert Rosa at Carrabbas. OMG! so friggin good.

I dont see the Wii going on sale anytime soon because they are still in high demand. and becoming more popular. I plan to buy one for my kids as soon as i can find one, i have been looking since last year. stores here will get only 2 or 3 and sell out of them before the day. ALso i read the playstation 3 is not doing well , one since it is so dang pricey and two the Wii is more affordable and therefore more popular.
