I did see that show - after having it done, I have no clue how they went out to lunch - I went home and crawled in bed!

It wasn't bad at all - the hardest part of the whole thing was that you have to keep your eye open against this really bright light while they do it and you can't blink - Then they send you home with vicoden and goggles and tell you to sleep. The next am when I got up, I could see, just a little blurry. Within a few days I was pretty clear - The worst part was the first few months where my eyes would tire and blur from overuse, and get dry - I lived for my eye drops.

But overall, it was one day of discomfort, about a week or so of blurriness and antibiotic eye drops, and no problem since -

After a bunch of tests, they verify that you are a candidate for surgery.

On the day of surgery, they numb your eyes with drops.

They hold open your eyelids, one at a time, with this thing that looks like a torture device; but not so bad. You look up at a very bright light while the laser comes at your eye.

It takes about a second, no pain, a burnt smell, and it's on to the other eye.

Afterwards, I sat in a room for a half hour and was scared cause I could not see a thing.

Went home and slept all day.

Next day, back to the doctor. It was better. Far from perfect; but better.

I'd say about 5 days later, I was almost completely healed. Had some trouble with the computer screen for a few months after-----and most of that was cause of the dryness. I still went to work.

I used the drops for about 6 months or so.

Since then, PERFECTION.

Like I said, BEST thing I ever did. I don't miss the glasses or contacts one bit. To get up in the middle of the night and see....to swim without issues.....to walk in the rain....to not have any fog issues on hot humid days when I go outside from the a/c.....KISSING hubby.....Falling asleep without taking worrying about my eyes sticking shut in the a.m. cause I forgot to take the contacts out.....

I could go on and on!

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

Yardie I was wondering where you have been I'm so sorry about your tooth issues. I hope you feel better real soon. I know someone who was an oral surgeon assistant and she told me if you ever need a tooth pulled or root canal you should go to an oral surgeon or a specialist because dentist will attempt things that they think they can handle and then end up can't finish the job or some other issue occurs. She said her office got a lot of calls from dentists who attempted extractions and couldn't complete them because the tooth was more complicated than they thought. Sorry you had to bean example one of those cases she told me about I am hoping for your speedy recovery. (F)

Opportunities are like sunrises - if you wait too long, you miss them.

So what were you painting before Evan arrived. If everything is too perfect, he may feel he's not needed. You will find your ring, check your pants pockets from the other night.

oh he knows he'll have lots to do. He always tells me to leave something for him, and there's plenty. Actually, i was priming the walls in our bedroom, cause we are gonna pick the paint color together and paint it when he gets here. And then we still have the second room (babys room  ) and he has to chop the cherry tree in the yard with a Machete. haha

So she's not supposed to want things to look nice? Did she marry a servant?

Sus, since nothing in my satement allured act about a anyone acting in a role as a servant, so I will not respond to your statement.

But, let me bring back to your attention, Malita had commented in a post that Evan had told her not to do everything, because he wanted to help her. I'm sure you missed that post.

You know what I don't need negative people in my life, because my life is good. To all of those whose friendship I value I will contact you personally, but considered this my sign-off to negative and smart ### comments. I will no-longer post on VJ.

Have at it.......

Be Blessed

Roxcie

Ok wait a minute. what happened here?! I dont think she meant it that way Rox. I have mentioned that Evan has said that he wants me to leave stuff for him to do, so I get that. I think it was all jokes....right?

I kind of like shopping for winter clothes. I love blue jeans. Some boots are just plain awesome. My Uggs come out of storage. I like all the warm fuzzy stuff. Lying on the bed with the hubby and kids all snuggled under blankets, watching movies or playing a game, sipping tea or hot chocolate.....Good times!

I definately could do without the snow. At least as far as driving. But, playing in the snow, building snow men with the family, snowball fights, sledding, even snow angels.......I really do like the fun of all that. And, of course, the beauty of fresh fallen snow, before it turns all brown or yellow and mushy.....I have this picture of the back of our house last winter....after a major snowfall.....ice making all the trees droop.....ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. It is one of those times I ponder the wonders of God. Nature can be just so powerfully beautiful.

JG, it sounds beautiful.. I can look at all the pics but the cold weather mi nuh like.. LOL when we do get a likkle bit of frost that one day out of the year I send my kids out w/ their socks on their hands (usually not cold enough to buy mittens) and they have at it while I am in the window watching LOL

I LOVE the fall weather though and fall fashions..the opaque tights and heeled boots and scarves.. YAYYY i gots to have my jeans too

Girl we must dress alike. I dont know how many boots I got, and colored tights!! I got some cool red ones the other day. cant wait to wear them with a short skirt and riding boots!! woohoo!!

u know JG Kashi likes the fall temps..go figure and i'm running inside he just puts on a hoody and he's good..me, right!..i like to be inside on thanksgiving all toasty and lookin out :) ..i love the holidays, the music decor everything except freezing temps and busting my azz

Awww I love the holidays too. Especially NY holiday!! Oh that city makes you fall in love all over again during the Christmas season. I cant wait for a Christmas there with Evan.

I love Christmas and Thanksgiving too. December is a busy month for my money flying out of my pocket book. SO birthday, daughters birthday, Christmas.....I have already been buying things for about a month now. Got to start early and I see KMart is really pushing their lay-a-way program this year.

I went to the BOMB K mart the other day. I didnt know we still had those. It was real nice inside, like a Target!

Kimmy I just got contacts again and I love them. I used to wear them years ago but I stopped because it was annoying trying to put them in and they kept falling out etc well I decided I wanted to go snorkeling and actually see something this time when I go to Ja so I just went and got contacts again. Acuvue has a new kind that is hydra something anyway they feel so different and they are so easy to put in. I have had no problems. I also found out I have an astigmatism so maybe that is why I didn't like them before because they didn't feel right. Well I love these new kind and I probably will give up my glasses all together. Try them. They have a coupon online to get a trail pair for free http://promo.acuvue.com/promo/refer.do

I love Kohls they have terrific clearance sales! I usually get all my accessories from Kohls. Where do you guys live that Walmart has layaway? The Walmarts around here stopped their layaway programs last year. Is this a holiday layaway only?

Oh I tried the link I posted and it didn't work. Go to acuvue.com and look for trial pair.

I had astigmastism too, but couldnt do the contacts for long. They dried my eyes out something serious, plus my vision declined much faster after wearing them vs wearing glasses. I recommend lasik to anyone. Its literally the best thing I ever did for myself...no joke! I feel so less restricted and free. its probably what many women feel after going natural with their hair...liberating.

I had it done about 7 years ago. Best thing I have EVER done in my life.

I have been buying at least one Christmas present a paycheck since the beginning of June. I am nearly done. I hate shopping during the busiest seasons. Working in a mall spoils all that for me!

Yeah I did but I just talked to this new dr I have and he was saying that he would not recommend it. He wears glasses also so I asked him would he get it and he said no. He said that when you get to be 40 or so something happens to your eyes as far as preceiving distance and since I am nearsighted this will work to my advantage when I get older or something like that. He was saying basically i wouldn't need bifocals when I get older like most people and I will be happy about my problem with my eyes. He said if I get surgery then I would more than likely end up with the same problems people who don't have vision problems get because of age. It was kind of technical so forgive me if I didn't get all of what he said right. I was just turned off because he is like the 3rd doctor that told me eventually I would still need glasses again! I'm not cool with that. I was like ok basically you are telling me I can live eye glass free temporarily? They are like yeah! So I said no thanks. I'm happy especially now that I found some contacts that aren't a pain. :)

Of course you'll need glasses again, but it will be cause your eyes are old. Most everyone needs glasses when they are old. So you can not have a need for them til you are like 50, and its usually to read, not to see daily tasks. So your doc is right. But you can have all your days now glasses and contact free, or you can have the glasses now, and have the glasses later too.

 , JG!! You're not supposed to tell them this stuff, thats the scary parts. But on the real....it does look like a torture device and I am a wimp when it comes to things in my eye...another reason contacts never worked for me. I was shaking so bad laying on that table when they clamped my eye open. LAWD!! Yuh think they were killing me. Doc kept saying be still, lay still....what?!!! I am laying here with you all up in my eye, yuh mussi mad!!! Oh and the smell.....LAWD!! Every Black woman know what that smell is when you smell it....so gross.!!

....ok Im a stop talking to myself cause i see that I have written like 10 msgs an no one else talk.
