Pay stubs or other documentation

Hey,

I got an RFE for my AOS application, stating that USCIS needs proof of current income from my sponsor. That would be

- an employer letter with certain information on it,

- pay stubs or other documentation of pay for the previous 6 months.

What do they mean by "other documentation of pay", and what would suffice as proof ? My sponsor (father-in-law) did not keep all of his pay stubs for this year, so I wonder if there is anything that the personnel department could issue to him that says "he was paid ... in the past 6 months".

Any thoughts ?

Thanks,

Daniel

If he got paid "Direct deposit" maybe a copy of his bank statement could work, or asking the HR dept. where he works if they can just print out proof of payment for the past 6 months (not sure what it's called) but if he explains it they should have everything on file...good luck

Other documentation may be bank statement if pay is by direct-deposit, the statement usually shows name of depositor and how much.

Copies of a few recent pay stubs are fine, the do not have to go back 6 months.

About employer letter:

Basically, your employer letter should state "To whom it may concern: (first name, last name) has been employed full-time with the XYZ Company since 200_ as a (name of your job), and is an employee in good standing with an annual salary of $XXXX. Signed, John Doe, Supervisor (or whatever title)" The letter should be on company letterhead.

Are you sure about that ? The RFE notice explicitly says "of the previous 6 months" ...
