$400 is the CR/IR1 fee not K-3/4. If you opt for K-3/4 then $131 each is all you pay....

What is the status of your I-130 petition?

$355+$45 is for an IMMIGRANT CR-1 or IR-1 visa.

K-Visas pay $131 each. K-Visas are NON-Immigrant visas.

Nonimmigrant visa application and border crossing card processing fees (per person):

* Nonimmigrant visa application processing fee, Form DS-156 (non-refundable): $131.00

I have seen some consulates screw up and have the IV unit send out the wrong information letter and send the one for IMMIGRANT visa to a NON-Immigrant, the fee is still $131.

Didn't that happen to someone else? I forget who -

Sus, it was Marcel and I. They sent us a packet saying we had to send in and I-864 and pay 2 sepearate fees to process the visa. I e-mailed the embassy and they told us to ignore what was in the packet. Then I called DOS and was told them same thing. The imformation that we were mailed were for "immigrant visas"

I think some of that is just standard language too and they expect you to figure it out. I remember Andre's paperwork saying he had to pay at the embassy even though we all know that's not how it works.
