Hi all. New here and I have a few questions. Want to say first that this a great website for info. My fiancee is from Indonesia and we have submitted her K1 visa application (I129f) in June 2008 to the California Service Center. Case number issued and shows application received June 24 2008. Status- Case received and pending. Trying to get a handle on the processing times. NOA? What is this? The USCIS website indicates that they are processing applications received Feb 01 2008. The timelines web page for this site says the CSC is processing K1 applications with NOA1 of May 04 2008. Again, NOA1? Assuming that the NOA has to do with the date the case numbered was issued why the difference in the processing times? I met my fiancee in Taiwan in 2006 and that was where she was living when we submitted her paperwork. She has since had to return to Indonesia for family reasons. Does submitting a change of address and contact info reset the timeline? We had planned for her to go through the U.S. consulate in Jakarta anyway. The paperwork we submitted included a family contact in Indonesia in case of an issue such as this. Thnx for any help.

USCIS times are never less than 6 mos. Reality is that they may be processing faster but they will never indicate such.

NOA1 = Notice of Action (first one) is the I-797C you received with your case number.

Consular processing is assigned by NVC and not the USCIS, no effect on that processing.

YMMV

You need to read the guides so you can get a better understanding of the process.
