Hi All,

Please advise. Could someone let me know if my fiance's Point of Entry can be St. Louis. I usually travel via worryfree vacations and travel direct from STL to Montego Bay. Can I purchase a similar ticket originating from St. Louis, but have him only use the MoBay to STL portion of the ticket? Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks

Shaunsgal

He can fly into whereever you two want. Basically you are paying for a roundtrip ticket and using only one leg of it. If that is cheaper than just buying a one-way go for it. The airline companies have nothing to do with immigration and POE. Its immigration once you exit the plane that you worry about. So yes, he can fly into STL.

However, I would check with the airline - because if he didn't use the first portion of the ticket, does that void the second portion of it?

It would. You could buy a roundtrip ticket from MBJ to STL and just use the first leg and "throw away" the second. You couldn't buy a roundtrip from STL to MBJ and use the second leg without using the first leg. If the first leg isn't used of a round trip ticket the ticket becomes void.

Your fiance could enter anywhere as their POE. It will be wherever the plane lands first here in the US and they have to clear immigration.

Nope! I've done it lots of times. So unless something changed....I miss my going out flight and get a new one with another airline, but I still keep my return flight back. Each flight is seperate. I use to do it in college alot.

Maybe it is the specific airline you use Lita. I just did a quick google search and the general consensus is that if you miss the first leg all the rest are cancelled of a roundtrip ticket.

So to be on the safe side - check with your specific airline.

Call them and ask about the one way thing. If it were me, I would just buy a one way ticket unless the cost is substantial. We used AA when Andre came and all I bought was one way from JA.

And, yes, you can enter through St. Louis. It will take you to the East terminal and they will direct him and you to the same customs and immigration as you usually go through. You can enter the US from any city.

When is he coming?

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip
