Hi Everyone,

Can St. Louis be a point of entry for my fiance? I travel via worry free from STL to Montego Bay and I was wondering if I can by a roundtrip ticket originating from St. Louis, but in his case just using the MoBay STL leg of the trip. I hope my question makes sense. Please advise?

I would be worried because if you do not use the front leg of your ticket, your entire itinerary is cancelled.

When flying, the POE is always the first airport where there is a US inspection station. If it is a direct flight from Jamaica to STL, then STL can absolutely be your POE (to teh best of my knowledge, the US does not have a remote inspection station at MoBay).

YMMV

Right, just using the second leg of a round trip ticket will not work. If the first leg isn't used, the reservation is cancelled. Depending on the conditions that apply to the purchase, you may get next to nothing back. Don't do this.

Any first airport any flight lands in the US is the POE, regardless of point of origin or final destination.

A round trip ticket may well be less expensive than a one-way but the first leg needs to be used.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

How many threads are you going to ask this same question on? Can someone merge all 3 of them?

Call them and ask about the one way thing. If it were me, I would just buy a one way ticket unless the cost is substantial. We used AA when Andre came and all I bought was one way from JA.

And, yes, you can enter through St. Louis. It will take you to the East terminal and they will direct him and you to the same customs and immigration as you usually go through. You can enter the US from any city.

When is he coming?

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the reply. I live in St. Louis and wanted to be at the airport of his port of entry. I did not know you could get a direct flight from Jamaica to St. Louis any other way except through charter since STL is not a big port. Let mw know if there are any direct flights you know off.

Also, we are still waiting for the packet 3 and having a heck of a time with the Jamaican Embassy. The claimed they mailed it and my fiance has been to the office twice for a duplicate packet and has been turned away.

Thanks again everyone!

Are you saying Spirit is a charter?

He cannot just show up for a packet. He needs to call and make an appointment to get one. He doesn't really need it, though.

All he has to do is get the DS-230, fill it out, and make an appointment to drop it off, or he can courier it to them. You can download it for him if he can't do it.

Thanks again,

I just called my fiance and asked him to fill out the DS 230. I had brought him some blank ones on my last visit to show what to expect. Does he need to fill out both part 1 and 2? Let me know. He is dropping it off tomorrow at the Embassy. Thanks so much.
