Getting ready to send out the I-751.

I've searched this topic and I know about cases where people use a P.O. Box or something like that in the mailing address vs. address section.

However, my question is:

If we currently rent and are expected to move within the next few months, can I put my parents' address as the "Mailing Address" to be sure the new card gets there ok?

Reason being last time we moved and had our mail forwarded it took months to get our mail and a lot got lost. I just don't trust the snail mail system and I'd feel more comfortable having it send to a "stable" address.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I did the same thing. In fact I use my parents address in all of the fields. On the Part Three Question 9 of the I-751, I marked yes and included an attachment of the places where my wife and I have stayed.

Also, in my case, my wife and my driver's license address and all of our bills still go to my parent's address. Reason I do this is so my wife doesn't have to let the USCIS know every time we move.

Thanks for the reply. However we have been letting USCIS know of where we've moved so our current apartment address is on file with them and all our evidence for I-751 shows our current apt mailing address. I guess if I always kept my parents address that would work but since all my evidence says my current apt, I guess I'm back to my original question -- any ideas?

We did the same thing.

When we filed for AOS, we were living with my cousin. We had everything in that address. We moved just down the street, yet, for continuity, kept that as our mailing address. We just walk up and get our mail daily.

What I did was have all our bills mailed to my cousin's address, yet they say our real address as our service address.

It is not a thing. There is a place on the I-751 which asks for your mailing address as opposed to the address where you live. Just fill out the form properly. It's really not a big deal. Just be honest. They have seen it all before.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

Actually you are supposed to let USCIS know if you move. I moved physically, even though I kept the same mailing address (a P.O. Box) and I let them with the AR-11 and by phone because those are the legal requirements. If you don't not let them know you have moved, they can deny you based on that alone.
